He was having a decent hame up til their goal, after that he went back to the Keane from last year. Hopefully he can put it behind him

He wasn`t though.

Zouma was having to constantly cover for him.

Vardy spent the whole match " hugging " Keane, just waiting for the inevitable mistake.

Pound for pound he`s up there with the worst defenders to ever pull on a blue shirt.

He`s a liability.

There are quite a few players who look half decent in a team set-up that suits their playing style, move on to a different club and system and today's Premier League coaches will pick your weaknesses out in quicker than Keane can turn to a ball played over his head. There are teams that he'd look decent in and would suit his style, just not us.

Totally agree. But the fellas Burnley supporting mate never rated him, even when he was playing in the right team. My Ajax mate never rated Klaasen, my Malaga supporting mate always knew Sandro wouldn’t make it here. My Swansea mate reckoned Swansea won the Lottery when we got Williams. Hindsight, it’s great thing

Actually think the exact opposite. The knee jerking has all come from people who were so quick to decide he had improved massively and was now a top centre half when at his absolute best I would class him as 'OK'. He lacks so many things that prevent him from being a quality centre half, but every time he has a game where he just has to head things away and make the odd block people come on and say he was wonderful. He's painfully average, nothing more and nothing less.
Sorry but that's absolute tripe. He was horrific against Spurs, absolutely horrific. He lost Tarkowski to gift a great chance against Burnley. He was OK in general against Brighton. So 'not put a foot wrong wrong in ages' translates to about 3 days. Great. It seems that if he isn't directly responsible for us conceding a goal you class it as a good game, forgive me if I expect a little more from our players.
This is the problem though, he made a mistake then went to pieces. Against Spurs Pickford and Zouma run into each other and the defence, including Keane, fall were terrified to be on the ball. Anybody can make a mistake, the real test is how you respond to that mistake and Keane is usually found wanting, he's mentally weak.

Keane has looked very good COMPARED to last season...he couldnt look worse.

He seemed 'ok' up until he was left out for Mina/Zouma and then it seemed his confidence disintegrated.

I dont mind if hes kept on as 3rd choice if Zouma goes but if we can keep zouma for a relatively cheap fee and then go and sign a top player he has to be sold.

Tbh even a gopher could see Klaassen for what he was just from watching a couple of Ajax games.

Williams there was a segment on him at swansea where it showed his dire passing and positioning.

I was done on sandro though...

I think Keane, Zouma and Mina will be very good, if not this season, then next. I’ve just finished watching the LFC/ManCity game, and I can’t help but wonder where we would be if we had picked up VanDyck from Celtic when he was available for a song, and we had managed to hold on to John Stones. This match was the most dominant game by opposing CBs that I’ve seen this season. What could’ve been.

I hate this, he was very very good for Burnley and in his last season he was getting linked with big moves to quite a few clubs. We got in early and got him. But, after an error and a pretty poor season in a pretty poor team under pretty poor managers, your mate the Burnley fan says he never ever rated him! Brilliant. Perhaps we should get this mate on our list of scouts as he’s seen something a hell of a lot of other scouts haven’t.
And I hate this. Plenty of people disagree about our players on here don't they? There were many who thought Lukaku would be brilliant at United and many who thought he'd bomb. Some people thought Stones was the second coming and some thought he was a fraud. Hell even right now you think Keane made 'a' mistake and had a 'pretty poor' season while I think he makes mistakes in pretty much every game and last season was quite possibly the worst of an appalling bunch of signings. So we can all have different opinions, but you don't think Burnley fans can. Weird that.

If we were linked to Johnny Evans, there’d be meltdown on here. Yet he at least has the basics every centre half should have. Strength, aggression, good positional sense. Unfortunately, I don’t see any of these in Keane.
We were linked to him and several thought he'd be an improvement over what we have.

I never liked the Keane signing, but he is decent in the air, surprisingly good with his feet. But his anticipation and agility are questionable at best, which are important traits for a CB. He is really fast in a straight line though, but we rarely see that.

Yeah but Van Dijk was playing in a pub league, so couldn't be any good.
