Its true, all the quotes are from the player. Just cant link it.

In brief, his foot was gashed by James Vaughan against Sunderland, blood everywhere. Everton gave him 8 stitches, and was supposed to be out for 3 weeks. Koeman was desperate, and rushed him back after 10 days.

Then after the 5 2 Arsenal game, it swelled back up, and given meds. Unsie, was desperate for results, and played him a week after he left hospital, playing with painkillers and over sized boots. Against Southampton, had a reaction to the meds, and went wonky.

Then against United, someone stamped on the old injury, and it burst open again. Only near the end of Fat Sams time did it all heal properly.

Last season was like we had entered some hellish time loop that took us back to the Walter Smith era.

Keane was playing so bad with the injury though that this is so poor from the club. I know we only had options like Williams to choose from, but Keane was hardly playing better than him.

Everything that could go wrong, was, it was a nightmare season... And we still finished 8th,i don't want to hear another evertonian worry about relegation, we're just not that type of club.

In fairness that afternoon against Southampton I thought we were the worst team in the league by a mile. Just because we made some changes and got out of it doesn’t mean that if we had carried on we wouldn’t have got relegated. We essentially made Rooney a deep lying midfielder and brought in 50 million pounds worth of attacking talent.

I was never worried, I know performances like that made everyone worried, but teams like Huddersfield have that nearly ever week and they still stayed up.

Anyway, brr, shudders how bad we were, koeman and Walsh brought in five first team players who couldn't even nail down a spot, brands and Silva bring in five that waltz straight into our team, our future is bright.

That’s the most promising thing for me. If Mina comes in and plays well we’ll have literally nailed every single signing. When was the last window we did that? West Ham aside we’ve performed well every single game and even with ten men should have won at Wolves and Bournemouth (both points now looking better considering how well they’ve both played). I think the turnaround from December last season has been extraordinary and in a time when Everton have done a lot of things wrong we finally seem to be doing some things right. Everyone is fit, we have a good first 11 with experience and talent in every position (not a team of kids and old men like last season), we have talent on the bench that can make an impact, we have goals spread around. It’s looking good it really is. If we can make hay whilst we are going under the radar we could get into the second half of the season still in touch with some of the lower teams of the top 6 we may be able to take advantage of them being in Europe etc.

I'm sauced on this lads, and I'm telling you Keane out Jagielka in tonight. Something about Jagielka having more training ground experience against Lukaku.

Most teams have days when they are shocking. We had 2 in quick succession against Southampton and Atalanta, but I never once believed we would go down. I was worried that we may be dragged into a relegation battle if we didn't start improving, but I was always confident that there were enough worse teams than us. At the time we were closer to a European place than we were to the drop.

when this front four build up more of a relationship, they'll be pretty frightening, especially away from home. I've never seen us have a team capable of actually blowing teams away away from home, which is stupid given that crap teams like bournemouth and huddersfield can win 4-0 away in this league, for example. Transformation has been brilliant yes, i kept saying last season how our squad wasn't crap, they were just playing very crap, but they had big weaknesses right through the spine and a lack of pace. We really needed someone like brands to make great use of our funds though, and i'm so grateful for that.

Mina just looked total class in the world cup for me, i can't believe we got him, but international footy is different to domestic, as we know, but he does seem to have the confidence and personality which to me will see him be a great player and a bit of a cult hero.

Wowzers.

Piece in the Sunday Times today on his injured foot last season, that nearly led to it being amputated. Club played him well before he was ready, and the swelling was so bad he played in boots 2 sizes too big. Then the meds he was put on made him go a bit loco against Southampton.

Kinda explains his drop off last season, to put it mildly.

Will try to link it.
Wow.

And to think the stick he got. And how many managers put themselves before the players health.

No wonder no one wanted to play for any of them last year.

Feel sorry for the lad now. Great to see him playing himself back into form.
