Haha nah I don't know what would constitute "perfect" but I really rate Gibson and he's left-footed and young and doesn't do any stupid Cruyff turns. Obviously you could insert Varane or whatever here but trying to be realistic.

After we signed Williams last season we still wanted another CB. I wonder if Koeman is happy with this partnership as it just seemed like a stopgap to me.

If he doesn't sign another this year maybe he'll wait to see what Holgate/Besic can do to replace Williams and if they can't we'll go in big again next summer? I know Gibson was rated like £25-35m but since the relegation I'm not too sure but Gibson (owner) isn't a mug.

It would be quite interesting to see us strengthening and balancing the books this summer.

Then next summer Jagielka, Williams, Baines and Barry (and Stek/Martina and no doubt others) are totally finished.

Only way this would be a benefit to us is if Kenny, Holgate and Connolly really performed well over this season.
