Michael Bradley

I'd take Vaughn and AJ any day over McBride and Dempsey but it would have been nice to have a McBride or Dempsey when everybody but Anichebe was hurt. It would have also been nice to have Dempsey at RW when 1/2 our midfield was hurt.

I'll admit Bradley has to improve on some aspects of his game. The matches I've seen him in (U-20 World cup and national side) he threw in some boneheaded rash tackles (ironically his tackling was the only thing I though he did well against England) and has to work on his first touch. I can't tell you he's going to light up the Prem but 4M seems like a pretty good bargain and a good chance to take. If there was a 20 year old Championship midfielder who scored 20 league goals prem teams would be falling over themselves to sign the guy. The dutch league may suck but its way better than the Championship.

He also would provide a physical presence that our vertically challanged side sorely lacks. I also get that feeling we'll need a goal scoring mid because (and I hope I'm wrong) with his history the odds may only be 50-50 that Cahill plays 1/2 the season. Plus if we sign him for 4M we still have (hopefully) 16M to play with and we are going to need another midfielder anyway so we can pick up that holding midfielder and/or a playmaker. Also who knows now that Jags is settled in maybe Moyes can play him at the holding midfielder position in the preseason to see how he does.

Like I said time and again. Moyes also a track record of signing good players who played well in the lower leagues so if he's interested there must be something good about him. Ironically his signings from "good" leagues VDM, Krodulp have been his worst.

For the record Bradley isn't my dream signing. Of all the players out there that we could afford (i.e. less than 10M and 50K/week) probably Valencia from Wigan would be my 1st choise (I think he may be better than Bentley). Just think Bradley is a hell of a bargain if we could get him for that price. If you think about it Alves on Boro (who did pretty well) was on Bradley's squad and didn't score much more goals than Bradley and Boro paid 12M for him.

Some really good points raised there mate, I can see where youre coming from.

You can damn well bet that I'll be bumping this thread if we sign him and he does well for us.

One match doesn't make a player. Never has. Never will.

(Naturally I'll be nowhere to be found if he crashes and burns.)

I happen to think he's a lot better than people are making out. Definately worth a throw if we can get the right price.

I was trying not to sound like "he's American therefore gash" as we only have to look at our keeper to dismiss that claim.

And McBride, Herkes, Wegerle and co could disprove that too.

:lol::lol:
Harkes the great player from Sheff Wed and Wegerle whose main club were that force that is QPR? Hardly the greatest examples

I know he played for the US, but he's actually South African.

Have only heared of the ones youve mentioned in the rumours etc, are they top?

I would like to see five maybe six any of the below with obvious preferences two central mideilders, centre half, winger, either another winger or a R.B. Any of the below:

Gonzalaz
Timoshuik
Ramsey
Ryan Taylor (like you struggleing but seems a promising player, who Moysey was in for before)
Downing
Fernandes

Few Youngsters i wouldnt mind a punt on: Stearman, Henesshay, Kightley, Beevers, McDonald, Scannil, Moses, Barnes, Mattock.

Wouldnt be disapointed with a five or six out of that haul, what you think?

What you mean by are they top?
If by Gonzales you mean Lucho then yes definitely, same with timoshuik. As we have discussed am not really a fan of ramsey. And it would be a big no for the final 3 for different reasons
