The good thing is all the Martinez stuff can now stop, only Barry in that squad tonight was a Martinez buy (and one of his good buys to boot) this is Koeman's squad so it's all on him from now on.

Imo, and it's safe to say over the years that I've proven time and time again I know nothing, the type of player we missed most of all is one we have within the club.
When you play against teams like that, I've always thought that you need to cause disruption to those banks of midfield and defenders. To do that, you need someone who can beat a man but do it in the middle of the pitch. Once that's done, someone else has to remove themselves from their fixed position and it can have a rippling effect.
We've got one of the best of those in the league, on his day.
Unfortunately he wants a new challenge.
Real shame. We will miss Ross the Boss.

To do that, you need someone who can beat a man but do it in the middle of the pitch. Once that's done, someone else has to remove themselves from their fixed position and it can have a rippling effect.

I'm sure it'll get better. It has to. But it needs to get way better than last season...and last season was like watching Barcelona compared to this nonsense.RK is looking like a clone of Walter Smith, and Mike Walker with moneylol
It will have to get better than this more signings needed without doubt it all might click once the season starts
I think the players we have this season are worse than last season's. Unreal after spending £100m.

Positives:
-Tom Davies played well in a foreign position
-Pickford did well with the little he had to do
-Keane has good composure and looks like we will become a good player.
-DCL was lively when he came on.
Negatives
-we have 2 CB's with such limited footballing ability that it slows our play down as the safe pass is utilised everytime.
-we have 2 CM's who lack the ability and vision to play the quick incisive pass into the forwards. The partnership will be effective against the better teams when we are out of possession but not ideal for breaking down weaker opposition who sit behind the ball.
-Our attacking midfield players lack the pace to transition quickly from midfield to attack. We gave no one that can beat a player.
-we have no number 9 who we can build our attacks around.

A little rusty still but enough on display tonight to suggest that this team will play a much better brand of football than we did last season
