Fake police officer ordered woman to stop on motorway
Police established the man was not an officer, but failed to investigate the incident as a crime.

Allowed to say.... hmmm.... allowed..... hmmmm......Good work by the brave unarmed cops tackling that guy with the sword. But we’re not allowed to say that are we…

Police who took kebab break before arena bomb disciplined
A PC and a PCSO who took a long break and did not follow orders received final written warnings.www.bbc.co.uk
would you be a darling and quote me exactly on where I have typed the bit emboldened please.A daft post this, based on a daft article.
It is right they’ve been disciplined but saying “he could have been stopped” just transfers the fatalities and the maimed from one lot of poor sods to another lot. A suicide bomber is going to blow himself up, whether that’s in a crowd going into an event or one leaving one.

yours in daftness, RP.
There's more to this, why has it taken 7 years to find officers awol from their post and 'final warn' them? And who else had gone walk about? You didn’t, the article did imply that.

Marking their own homework. Didn't work out so well with the snides in the post office either.
Shambles!
There was me thinking absent at work was a thing. Silly me.There has had to be a criminal trial (of the blokes brother) and the inquiry into the killings, that’s why it took so long.

17th March 2020 abedi, guilty. It is, that is why they were disciplined for it. A trial for the murder of many people and an inquest into the deaths of many people take precedence.

Slow 4 years?
I don't think it's good enough. They've had 7 years to take the micky again for free. They knew at the time, and their superiors within a week. All a bit simon harwood for me. Get your time in, secure your pension, keep your mouth shut, pack you off out of the front door..... and the inquiry finished in August 2023

Maybe my standards are that little bit to high. Difficult job, lessons learned, extra training, business as usual.
His 'proceedings' were stretched out which took him to his 20 served and thus out of the front door with his pension. I'll be keeping my ear to the grindstone re these two.Or to put it another way, they have to live with this hanging over their heads for seven years whilst the legal process is gone through and then get publicly shamed.
I am not sure why you compare this to Harwood given that none of this happened to him.
