I've just read about this and am in absolute disbelief that this was allowed to happen.

The Met are scum and should be done away with. An entirely rotten institution incapable of reform.

Being white Anglo ourselves, School needs looking at as well with those involved in this abhorrent incident, would not want those tasked with supposed care of a child near my kids with their passive aggressive racial profiling. Evidence enough of the structural racism is rife in the UK.

A big part of the current problems in policing are due to the cuts in numbers made by this scum government. We had some involvement with the police recently and the copper who came out to see us was saying that whereas in the past they'd have had 4 or 5 coppers to try and defuse a situation that'd normally have ended without violence, now you've got two coppers, fearing for their safety, so they tase or whip the baton out first and ask questions later. He'd been on the force for years and was furious with the government.

I think this is different though. These pigs are guilty of sexual assault of a minor. They're scum. Nothing to do with cuts. The same conversations have been had about the Met for 40+ years and nothing changes. They're beyond reform.

Absolutely disgraceful how a kid can be so badly failed by the police and teachers alike.

How all those adult professionals could actively do this, or passively allow it to happen is beyond me. Not one of them stopped to think ‘Is this right?’. Made my blood boil reading it.

I know there will be examples of poor policing across the country and examples of good policing are rarely highlighted, but the Met really don't help themselves with stuff like this.

That’s not quite true. You have never needed a degree to get into the police until recently. And many forces now are opening up new routes into the police without the need to have a degree.
