Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Arrived in Crete today, a place I've not been before. We're going on a trip to a place called Aghios Nikolaos. They bus you there and pick up 5 hours later but the time us your own. The plan is to do a bit of sea swimming and then have a nice lunch. Weather fantastic again.
Ag Nik is a very busy resort with a lively nightlife.
Have a great day mate.

Morning everyone.

A bit wet here today.

@larbert toffee you remain in our thoughts mate. The next few days and weeks will be tough and at times bleak but believe me , it does get better.

Anyway some good news seeing the Russians being routed in the south and east of Ukraine, God willing , they continue that momentum.

Have a lovely day everyone.
Thanks Jazzy, yes great news in the Ukraine war, you get the feeling that things are definitely turning there.

Morning all, off for our break in York this morning. Got an upgrade to first class via the Seatfrog app, I put in a bid on Saturday evening and won straight away. I was a bit surprised as it said bidding would carry on until 30 mins before the train was due to leave. Also amazed I got the app to work in the first place, being a technological dimwit - it took me long enough to work out posting pics and GIF’s (@Barnfred 55 is so pleased that I eventually mastered it. lol) Anyway despite numerous checks that have actually got first class tickets I’m still not convinced I’ve got it right and will be politely asked to leave. Have a good day all and hope those who are feeling sad can find comfort.?

Best girlie holiday ever in 1980s Crete. We stayed in Malia. However it wasn't all drunkenness and partying. We did visit the Palace of Knossus for a bit of culture. Have a wonderful day.

Good morning my lovelies. Autumn is definitely coming. You can tell by the feel of the air when I take Mr F to work at 6.30am. Some of the trees look like they are starting to turn brown as well.
How are you doing @larbert toffee ? Thinking of you and your family. Enjoy York @Gwladysover Take full advantage of first class freebies!Do the Ghost bus tour if you get a chance. It's a hoot - and very interesting. Our finest moment was when, on the way to our annual union conference in Brighton we got 1st Class tickets from Durham to King's Cross for £25 each way. Champagne socialists didn't come close!
I've a feeling the football might be called off this weekend as well. They will need so many police in London, they will be drafting them in from all over. I'm all in favour- means Pickford might only miss the internationals.
I'm starting to get demob fever. I'm so looking forward to having a couple of weeks off from 27 September onwards. My motivation levels for work are almost nil. Fred, have you managed to get sorted for Liverpool. We are there this weekend and the Premier Inn at the airport was an OK price.

Have a good Monday all.

I feel blessed to be 62 and having had so many good times with him, the likes of my wife lost her dad at 13 so I can be thankful for our time together.
Yes indeed. I lost my dad when I was 10, took me to my first match but never really got chance to build the memories you will cherish. But no matter what age you are, the loss of a parent still hits you hard. Take care mate.
