Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Sorry about your loss and your regret Frank, you can be sure he would have had exactly the same feelings.
Thanks mate, yeah we were/are a stubborn pair of pr***ks and fell out many times over very trivial matters. But we both knew that and ultimately we always returned to good terms. I sat by his side as he passed and told him i loved him, my mum told him that he was a bugger but she'd miss him anyway ?

Thanks Charlie, I'm sorry for your loss also and as with you I am mostly okay but yeah it just hits you now and then.
It will LT and at times you really aren't expecting it.
I know your dad had been in ill health for some time which for me made dad's loss easier to bare. My dad was diagnosed with cancer in January and progressively went downhill and in very bad pain dying the following November. In the end his passing was a relief but still a shock and upsetting.
Hope the next few days with arrangements etc aren't too bad.

Thanks Jazzy, exactly as you said mate, because he'd suffered so much with heart problems the past year it definitely took the sting out of it and he isn't suffering any more, he also passed in his sleep at home, all positives which makes things easier.

@anjelikaferrett You may have posted already, apologies if I missed it but how did the wedding go the other day?
It was lovely. The place was gorgeous. It was in the middle of a glade in a huge tepee that had sofas and a fire pit. Very relaxed vibe. The ceremony took place in an wooden building with huge windows along the sides and the guests sat at what looked like wooden picnic benches.

The bride looked radiant, just so happy and her dress was much more traditional than I expected. Very intricate embroidery on it. Her bridesmaids ( and bridesman) were all different colours to represent different gemstones - amethyst, emerald, sapphire, garnet. My favourite thing was her Dad's waistcoat had a repeating pattern of two old looking wedding photos. We asked him about it and it was the wedding pics of both sets of Emma's grandparents. who are no longer with us. Emma's Dad said he thought it would be a nice way to remember them at her wedding. No buffet - fish and chips and pizza instead with veggie and vegan options of both.

Fish and chips and pizza for a wedding sounds like a brilliant plan to me … Anj pictures ? Anecdotes … shots of you dancing on the tables singing The Grand Old Team ?

???That deserves more than a like. Sounds fantastic. What a lovely way to honour her grandparents too. Our daughter had a fish and chip option at her wedding reception as it was my Mum’s favourite.

I've just watched the first episode of Frozen Planet 2. Sir David Attenborough's latest project. Absolutely brilliant. Orcas once again showing that they are probably the most intelligent animals on the planet - and utterly ruthless hunters Traumatic moments with baby musk ox. And my personal favourite - Pallas's cat which is like an extra fluffy house cat - even down to rodent hunting skills.

Now we list our queen this man must be protected at all costs

Good morning all anoyjer barier crossed for @larbert toffee .Lovely photos of the wedding and an inspiration for lots of others methinks. Why not have chips and fish or pizza ? I do feel there is too much spent on weddings and it is a bit of one up on the jones's . When we got married ö-Ok it wasn't our first -we just went to the magistrates court ( yes that is the Registery office equivalent ) used a friend's Lexus and home to family and close friends .In contrast to my BIL who spent 40,000€ and 45,000€ on his daughters .
I know I am sounding like a grumpy old man but it is such a waste really and we didn't have it . What we did have was a lovely wedding , all were happy and well fed /watered and went away smiling .
I hope all have a good night and a fine day today .
