Another mega hot one today. Delos wasn't that great tbh. Not as historic ruins go but I'll post a couple of pics for H anyway. Mykonos us great though. Went to Mr G’s home village this afternoon, we go over every few months even though he has no relatives living there now. Visited the churchyard as several members of the family are buried there. Two village churches were demolished in the 1800’s and the materials used to build the present church, All Saints’, Sawtry. Here’s a pic. Apologies if I’m becoming a bit repetitive with the church pictures.

Sorry for your loss mate, my family have very recently suffered a bereavement of a much loved family member and I know how difficult and sad a time you must be going through

I am back home with my mum and have been fielding visitors all day so I am on here for the first time since early this morning.

So very sorry to read of your Dad’s passing. There is no finer epitaph. I hope you can find comfort in his long life well lived.

I feel blessed to be 62 and having had so many good times with him, the likes of my wife lost her dad at 13 so I can be thankful for our time together.

I lost my own dad, a lifelong blue, two weeks ago. He had a 50% strike rate, losing my brother to the dark side courtesy of his own redshite brother ?.
We argued many, many times over the years, and on one occasion to my eternal regret traded serious blows.
But like your dad, he was a good man, loved by many and I'll miss him terribly. Our numerous squabbles suddenly seem so pointless and unnecessary.

Sorry about your loss and your regret Frank, you can be sure he would have had exactly the same feelings.

Sincere condolences. However old and however great a life they left, and all the love that was given, its a terrible loss. Having experienced similar not long ago I'd advise as much time off as you can manage. I found the loss kept (and keeps) hitting me and random times. All the best.
