The guy who does the plough in the winter said that we might redo the road surface this year -600 metres long to us ! They do just a top covering so 2/300 euros and the lorry tips it ,so not that bad .

That old unicorn again. Ha ha. Maybe we should get Dave in to educate us on left footed right backs. Or maybe not.

We aren't bringing in big names but I actually quite like what Frank is doing. We;re bringing in some much needed left footers, which is adding some more balance to the squad. We are also bringing in players that will allow us to play different formations without playing people out of position. I like Mykolenko who I think is going to be a very good full back. But he is not a wing back and I think he has shown that. Vinagre however is probably at hs best as a wing back which will allow the Ukranian to move into the left hand side of a back 3 which I believe he will excel at. I also believe he could eventually move into a central role in a back 4. We haven't had a natural left footer in that position for years.

I also like McNeil and agree that he is a bit Sheedyish when in possession, but he is also very good without the ball which our old maestro wasn't. He is versatile and can play wide in a 442 or on the left of midfield in a 433. He is also young and may yet learn to play a more central role, he has the defensive attributes for it. He can also take set pieces, something which we have lacked since Digne and James left.

There's still much work to be done mind you. We need a defensive midfielder and somebody to replace Richie's goals. But we are ahead of where I expected us to be at this stage and there's still 5 weeks left of the window. Assuming McNeil signs, I can see us bringing in another 3 or 4 players before the window shuts, including a couple of loans.

@Barnfred 55 so sorry I forgot the shopping day ! Is it too late to remind you ? There are links with Gomez one way and Rabiota coming here .Now that would be an interesting proposition but not sure whether he is over the hill now or indeed hungry -what we need are hungry players .

I'm actually doing a shop today Blue, but I wont be trying that bread of yours probably until the autumn when I next make a curry.

I think that Gomes/Rabiot rumour was made up by some mischievous kopite as a joke mate. Juventus won't want Gomes and Rabiot won't want to come here unless it's on some ridiculous wage that we can't afford.

Yeah, I agree we need some young hungry players to come in. Players with something to prove.

Edit. And can slot into the football culture that Frank wants to introduce.

Morning guys hope your all well and good. I'm struggling a bit I've had a good run but have developed a spasm again and headaches are a bit much and I guess the news from mental health affected me more than I thought, I am incredibly irritable and angry at the moment everything is getting on my nerves even the pooch.

I watched this this morning and having worked in supermarkets the waste is pretty disgusting really and the worst I came across for chucking food that was still in date was FarmFoods you would be astounded at what they throw away, even the staff feel awful doing it. It's really bad when you consider some people can't feed themselves, more should be done to redistribute it out to people who would be thankful.

Sorry you are struggling a bit a the moment T. although I suspect it is probably more than “a bit” and is entirely understandable. Hope it will soon pass and you feel better. ? As to the food waste issue it is absolutely disgusting when so many people are going without and food banks are desperate for donations.

So Dwight has signed . Good. Looks like me Fred and Blue are in a minority of thinking he's a decent player but I think he will do ok.

I'd play 4411 , with Ali supporting DCL based on our current personell.

McNeil gives the full back , particularly Patterson if McNeil plays RW really good defensive cover.

Need a couple of CM's particularly one who shields the defence. Gana , possibly not due to his age and stance on homosexuality , Barkley definately not .

I'm not sure if he's made any comments Blue. But he refused to play in a PSG game where they were displaying the Rainbow logo on their shirts. That was a few weeks ago.
