Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Yeah. As I was typing that I was thinking that's my card marked next time I venture into the Everton forum.?

I tend to only lurk in there these days. There's some absolute whoppers about, and good guys like Toast manage to get themselves banned. Go figure.
I think it might be wise to wear those slippers in here for a while Fred .You would be missed a lot by the mascoteers . I see your point but !

Hello friends. Taking a quick break from work to check on everyone. I hope your Monday is going well, mine started with an exhausting workout but it has been slow day at the office so I have been able to recover. I have not seen @jazzy or @Terrarian posting here today so sending a special Monday greeting. I also have on my calendar that today is @Bluerover anniversary, not sure if that’s the case but happy anniversary, amigo.

Lastly, today would have been Karl’s birthday so let's think of him fondly and hope that wherever he is that he feels all the love we are sending him today. We miss you, mate! ?

Gracias amiga. 30 years !!

Morning everyone ,

@Gwladysover very saddened to read about the continuing bullying.

Been really busy last few days.

My Southport boys team , against all the odds , qualified for the Table Tennis England Centenary Competition ( really prestigous ) and as Chaiman of the League ( but not their regular coach ) took them to Derby at the weekend to compete.

Sadly my 14 yr olds were playing "boys" aged up to 19 and ranked over 150 places higher in the England U 19 rankings.

Anyway it was a great experience for them.

As chance would have it the eventual winners Plymouth were coached by a friend Paul who I hadn't seen for 40 years since I moved up. Turns out he's only the regional coach for TTE for the whole of the South West . A mum must have seen him in deep conversation with me and assumed I was some luminary coach and later asked if I would take a look at her son's forehand. The lad was the only one younger than my lot and was absolutely fantastic , there was very little I could offer. She was effusive in her thanks and when I checked the lad's name later turns out he's ranked no 3 U13 in the Country!

Anyway it was 30 degrees outside the hall and must have been 10 degrees hottter inside.

On the way back the kids very respectfully asked if they could eat in my ( brand new ) car. No , I repled but we will stop at Mc Donalds if you want. That made them very happy. "Why aren't you eating anything ?" they asked so explained that unlike @Barnfred 55 I don't eat burgers , I'm veggie and don't do fast food. To say they were fascinated is off the scale and led to a bombardment of questions ranging from why haven't you got any kids to how many bedrooms have you got in your house!

When I dropped them off and the last one got out I noticed a brown sticky mess on my cream leather seats! "Charlie" I said "What's that !?" Reply "Oh I have chocolate in my pocket and you said not to eat and it melted"

No wonder I don't have kids.

Anyway It cleaned off ok , no damage done.

Off to the Lancashire v Somerset cricket game today at Southport ...............and not driving !

Have a good day everyone.
Sounds like you living the dream! Well done to your lads hey! Now if you can sort out my sons backhand too that would be awesome

Yup. Dublin lost the All Ireland Final, Shamrock Rovers were in the wilderness, Everton.....However I found my beloved wife and she has put up with me all this time. Is this year your 30th too Barnfred?
Yeah. Would have been 30 years on June 20th mate.

It was my best day ever, closely followed I have to say by Rotterdam 1985. Although I'd never have admitted that to Cal.?

She is keeping an eye on you mate. I am sure that you remember the many happy times with her with love.

Mrs BR had a brush with C a few years ago. It frightened the hell out of me (big chicken) but she was so strong and thank God she got through.

Yeah. Cal was the same. She came through it well but it did change her in so far as it made her a bit more selfish. She was always an incredibly generous person, but having breast cancer forced her to refocus her priorities and she decided to spend more time doing the things we love. Which mainly involved cruising but also encompassed moving down here to Cornwall once we had no ties to Liverpool. We were always strong as a couple, but if anything her cancer and our subsequent lifestyle change brought us even closer together.

That is what is giving you the strength now Fred .
