Beautiful thing you did Sassy starting his birthday thread xHello friends. Taking a quick break from work to check on everyone. I hope your Monday is going well, mine started with an exhausting workout but it has been slow day at the office so I have been able to recover. I have not seen @jazzy or @Terrarian posting here today so sending a special Monday greeting. I also have on my calendar that today is @Bluerover anniversary, not sure if that’s the case but happy anniversary, amigo.
Lastly, today would have been Karl’s birthday so let's think of him fondly and hope that wherever he is that he feels all the love we are sending him today. We miss you, mate! ?

A gent who we celebrate every day in the Messy Coffee Shop.

That really angers me. Surely a teacher should know of all people that kids mature at different ages and it isn’t quite as simple as a ‘cowardly lion’.Update on the bullying issue. Harry was moved to another form and classmates instructed to be kind, talk to him etc. of course they ignored him. The teacher forgot to give him his new timetable so he didn’t know which lessons he had or where they were. Insults continued. The week ended with the chief bully threatening violence in PE with a rounders bat not an empty threat, he has form, as his previous victim now spends breaks and lunchtime in the office for his own safety after a beating. I wasn’t aware that we imprisoned the victims and let the perpetrators go free in this country but there we are. H has an incident log which he showed the teacher and he was given the advice that he should watch the Wizard of Oz and try to be like the cowardly lion!!! DIL has been on to the school again and told them she will report them to OFSTED if it continues. Feel so bad taking him to school but apparently his parents will be in trouble if he has too much absence. Just heard how his day went and it wasn’t too bad just a bit of name calling and the bully was spoken to but not punished.
Great Pics, you based in Auckland @fandjango? or just transiting to your domestic hub? I'm based in Bay of Plenty, near the Mount. Been here 3 years now and you are the first Evertonian i have seen in NZ. We are a bit thin on the ground in this neck of the woods....
I live on n Spain buddy but my son and his family have been in Auckland 15 years so I’m a regular visitorGreat Pics, you based in Auckland @fandjango? or just transiting to your domestic hub? Sorry to hear… schools really can disappoint. It’s almost like they trying to push the victims out.. shocking !Update on the bullying issue. Its bloody hot isnt it?
We have advised him to stay near to a teacher if possible at all times , in the hope that it would at least make him feel safer.Morning all on this bright and beautiful day here in Finland ,in for another hot one I think .I hope all slept well and have a great day today and I hope that bully gets his comeuppance . Can't the lads hatch a plot to get the bullying to happen when they are near a teacher?
Feels more like the Fast Show at times ......."today I will mostly be eating burgers"Ha ha. I've just realised that I'm living my life on the internet. It's like the GOT version of the Truman Show lol
Be careful Fred , another red card could be on its way.Yeah of course Blue. I'm not judging in any way and apologies to the mods if it come across that way.
Just surprised that a good guy could get himself in the bad books to the extent where he is perma banned. It isn't something that happens very often on here as the mods are pretty lenient in that regard. Not so lenient on off-topic bans though.
Brilliant. You're a good soul Jazzy. I'm sure the kids loved their day with you. Enjoy the cricket.Morning everyone ,
@Gwladysover very saddened to read about the continuing bullying.
Been really busy last few days.
My Southport boys team , against all the odds , qualified for the Table Tennis England Centenary Competition ( really prestigous ) and as Chaiman of the League ( but not their regular coach ) took them to Derby at the weekend to compete.
Sadly my 14 yr olds were playing "boys" aged up to 19 and ranked over 150 places higher in the England U 19 rankings.
Anyway it was a great experience for them.
As chance would have it the eventual winners Plymouth were coached by a friend Paul who I hadn't seen for 40 years since I moved up. Turns out he's only the regional coach for TTE for the whole of the South West . A mum must have seen him in deep conversation with me and assumed I was some luminary coach and later asked if I would take a look at her son's forehand. The lad was the only one younger than my lot and was absolutely fantastic , there was very little I could offer. She was effusive in her thanks and when I checked the lad's name later turns out he's ranked no 3 U13 in the Country!
Anyway it was 30 degrees outside the hall and must have been 10 degrees hottter inside.
On the way back the kids very respectfully asked if they could eat in my ( brand new ) car. No , I repled but we will stop at Mc Donalds if you want. That made them very happy. "Why aren't you eating anything ?" they asked so explained that unlike @Barnfred 55 I don't eat burgers , I'm veggie and don't do fast food. To say they were fascinated is off the scale and led to a bombardment of questions ranging from why haven't you got any kids to how many bedrooms have you got in your house!
When I dropped them off and the last one got out I noticed a brown sticky mess on my cream leather seats! "Charlie" I said "What's that !?" Reply "Oh I have chocolate in my pocket and you said not to eat and it melted"
No wonder I don't have kids.
Anyway It cleaned off ok , no damage done.
Off to the Lancashire v Somerset cricket game today at Southport ...............and not driving !
Have a good day everyone.
