Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

This my thread so RAFUH is only going to ban people who are horrible to each other. With Regards Benitez the longer he is in a job the better we are doing. Still don't want him.

Sorry @GrandOldTeam for this message obviously you are in charge and the thread is yours and decisions are up to you. I've just realised how arrogant I sounded it wasn't meant to. It's just I genuinely want this thread to stay nice even after my demise. It would be good if other people who want to talk about their illness could post here. If only people could appreciate how good it makes me feel when people are asking after me. Please accept my apologies I think the bolshyness is part of the side effects of all my new medications. Thank you for giving all of us this platform to speak.

You dont sound arrogant at all mate. A warrior and a blue brother Yes.

When I went to Goodison I saw just how much work Doucoure gets through. He is our Essein, Allan is Makelele. Just need our 15-20 goals a season Lampard. Over to you Brands. The reason we need new RB is it makes us equal threat both sides which will create more space for Digne to get his crosses in. He's had poor start to the season.
Yeah Doucoures like a new man this year. Covers some ground and always at the edge of the box ready to slot. Criminal we're still looking a rb after 4 yrs. I love Seamus but his legs cant do every game now unfortunately, and you'll start seeing our own fans getting on his back more and more. I hate seeing that.

Needs to stay at the club so he can take any opportunity that comes along. Play him alongside Welch in u23s so they can get an understanding make his target to captain a defence that concedes few goals and zero from his errors.
Could easily get a chance with the injury records of Mina and Coleman. If both out at the same time then I wouldn’t be surprised to see Godfrey at RB and Branthwaite get a chance ahead of Holgate at CB.

Could see Holgate being shipped out next summer.

You’re good Karl, you come across well and never arrogant.

Sorry messy, slightly off-thread but Gwladysover's post reminded me. Many years ago, I went to the funeral of a guy I worked with for many years. The day of the funeral was a real miserable, cloudy and rainy day. At the church service his two daughter's aged about 16 and 13 gave a reading. They went to the pulpit and the elder daughter went first and the youngest second. As soon as they got in the pulpit, the sun came out (for the first time that day) and sent a beam of light (like a searchlight) through the stained glass window straight on to the two girls.
As soon as they had finished, and left the pulpit, the sun disappeared together with the beam of light, and we never saw the sun again for the rest of the day. Will never forget that.
@Methuselah I meant to comment yesterday how much I enjoy when you go back in time and tell us stories from your past. This one is a very moving one, I bet those girls left their dad’s funeral feeling a illuminated by his light.

I endorse this.
Some things go beyond mere football.

But if there was an award for 'Poster Of The Year' @messymascot would get it (even though I don't know you from Adam - courage my friend.)

And (no disrespect to all the other ladies on here, you all deserve medals for wading through this testosterone)
You would be in 2nd place, for leading by example in the on going struggle to drag us out of our big macho hermit crab shells we hide behind.
*retreats back into macho shell having blown the whole touchy feely budget for the year
Empathy, love, and community are indeed greater than football.

@messymascot no only deserves and award for poster of the year but one for courage too. I’m awe at the strength he shows everyday to keep going. He even has the vigor to offer support to others on the mental health thread. He is definitely my hero.

Awe @degsy thanks for blowing your touchy feely budget for the year with your sweet post. xx

Hi Messy, sorry you had to go to hospital but very happy you are home again. Hopefully you are feeling more comfortable. I can't argue with your chosen Everton XI. I much prefer when we play four at the back. We don't seem to be able to do three at the back. I think tomorrow is a really pivotal game for us - even this early in the season. It will be a good benchmark for us.

I pretty much missed the whole of the 1990s music scene - I was busy getting married and having my children and in truth, probably recovering from the 1980s which was my peak socialising years! I do have a couple of Oasis songs on my Spotify playlist but they are really well known ones - Wonderwall and Don't Look Back In Anger.

Hope you have a good evening.

Been to a family meet up so everyone can have a crack with me. It went smoothly and even my 92 yo Grandma made. They are the 2 most commercial Oasis songs but both still classics.

Tomorrow is very important in deciding how well we do you need to beat sides around us to lay down a marker.

My evening will be good so will yours hopefully.

Agree with all the above apart from the having kids bit

This writing is nothing to do with yours its just I wanted to generate notification. Ha ha. I should have just mentioned you.

Do you agree in the odd occasion we play 3 CBs it has to be Holgate Mina Godfrey as both Mina and Keane can only play as the middle in the 3?

Most of our midfielders are better in a 3. The only 2 that can manage in a 2 effectively are Doucoure and Allan?

I'll leave you alone now but I'm always here for a crack. This applys to you all. I don't like instigating conversations the time but I do aim to get back to someone as soon as I can.
Mate.

I wouldn't play 3 at the back full stop, or at least not until all of our players are comfortable with it
