Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I've just got back in from my coffee. I actually had a hot chocolate. It was nice to catch up and we have arranged to reconvene in 2 weeks it's took more out of me than I thought so just gonna relax for a couple of hours now.

I'm sure Mrs Barnfred would want you to watch the match in the best company just hope now everything is sorted it goes smoothly from now on. You are in all our thoughts.
Pleased to hear you had a good chat and hot chocolate, hope you had a relaxing evening. Have a good night?

Hey, darling. I hope you are relaxing and recovering from your outing. Hot chocolate is a favorite one of mine. What’s hot chocolate like in the UK? Do you have it with marshmallows like in the US?

In Colombia hot chocolate is pretty much part of daily life, as much as coffee. We used an aluminum pitcher called a chocolatera to warm milk or water, or a mixed of both on the stove, then we add chocolate bars that in addition to chocolate has spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg
as well as sugar. After the chocolate is melted we use a wooden molinillo to froth the chocolate. The chocolate froth up the sides of the pitcher, but the tall round shape tapered near the top keeps the chocolate from splattering over. Once it is well-frothed, we poured the steaming chocolate into cups and have it with bread or arepas (a traditional corn bread) and a small chunk of local mozzarella cheese to go with it. We dropped the cheese into the chocolate and have it melted.

When I moved to the US I leaned that chocolate here is made very different and it is served with marshmallows, that’s a serious sugar rush. So now days I enjoy both but at home I make it Colombian style and if we go out then I have it American style :)

Sweet dreams. Xx

Yeah it comes with marshmallows and extra cream.

We ended up going Starbucks instead of Costa as we could park closer to the building.

It was good and we are maybe going to try somewhere different.

We chatted for a whole and then they brought me home.

Heve a good evening and speak soon.

Marshmallows and extra cream, you sweet devil ? ?

Starbucks is where we go too when we don’t have them at home. A long chat with ladies friends sounds nice.

Rest well, mate!

…..had a difficult week myself- Eye trouble over a few days resulted in a pretty nasty detached retina. Had quite a lengthy op on Tuesday. and now have to lie on my right side for two weeks to give it any chance of healing.

Frustrating & very uncomfortable time, Mrs Eggs doing a great job looking after me & keeping me in check. It’s going to be a long road back.

Hi Messy,

I think staying over if you go to the match again is a very good idea by @Sassy Colombian

One of my best mates owns a B&B out in Hale ( by the airport ). All the rooms are self contained, as they`re the old out buildings of his barn conversion and there`s a couple of really big rooms, which are like little flats that have fridges, a microwave, even a cooker in one of them.

He`s a good blue and he`d really look after you and who ever you came with - he quiet often runs guests to and from the match.

It`s not a normal B&B set up, much more friendly and personal, plus you have your own privacy too, as your not sharing with other guests.

Really easy to get to off the motorways as well.

Something to think about ?
Hale is a beautiful village too. You could well be fooled that you are not in big city limits when there.

For those not from around these parts have a look here https://www.google.com/search?q=hal...HCq8Q_AUoAnoECAEQBA&biw=1093&bih=500&dpr=1.25

I can vouch for this. I've stayed there when we've all visited the family in Liverpool ( not enough room for all 4 of us at my Dad's). It is really nice.

I’m sure you didn’t see that coming..

Rest up @Eggs, enjoy the pampering and let us know how you’re getting on.

Sorry to hear this and hope it was caught in time and you make a full recovery. Recuperating can be frustrating but we’ll worth it in the long run, meanwhile enjoy Mrs Eggs making a fuss over you and do as you are told?. My best wishes to you both.?

Dear @Eggs sorry to hear about your eye trouble, now days that we spent so much time in front of a screen is definitely debilitating our eye sight and creating all sort of eye issues ☹️ I wish you a speedy recovery, thankfully you have Mrs. Eggs by your side to take care of you!
