Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

That’s me - international woman of mystery. Seriously though the first was when they picked me up to look at some mugshots after I witnessed a crime and the second they brought me home after the Post Office where I worked was raided. It certainly got the net curtains twitching round our way.
Wow....that's almost makes you a real life Emily Bishop.

We were saying this ourselves today. I have to say I’m a little disappointed and underwhelmed to say the least with Everton in relation to the last game post match celebrations. I can’t help thinking it shows our small club mentality- if this was the R/S they’d have a full on concert in Stanley park or similar, going through the afternoon and evening with big names. It would probably be televised by one of the TV companies who frequently disappear up their 🍑. I would def be there even if I didn’t have a ticket and the statement to stay away is nothing short of ridiculous.
It would have been nice to have a big family atmosphere type of Goodbye to Goodison concert.
Oh well ….
I agree Val. The club must have known what a seismic event this is and to do nothing for those fans who can't get a ticket is incredible.

A big screen in Stanley Park or even beam it to BMD as another test event - just have some imagination and empathy Everton FFS.

I hope the day went OK for you and Kay.

Natural to be reflective about life as you get older but look at your kids and see how they behave as adults Pete. If they make you proud then you have done well.

The day went well thank you. But years ago Kay had undergone a breast cancer screening and we’d gone to the hospital to get the final results. I said to Kay then if it was bad news we’d sell up, pack in work and live on a beach to enjoy whatever time she had left. Fortunately it was good news but I was deadly serious about just packing up and enjoying whatever time we had left together. The kids would have understood and supported my decision tbh, but fortunately or unfortunately it was a decision I no longer had to make. When we first got married the priest stressed that at some point one of us would die before the other. I assured him that wouldn’t be the case and that we’d go together. Who could lie to a priest….

Well I won at dominoes tonight, a whole £1, which is big money in our group.

Kay’s sleeping nicely now, but I was reminded of Johnny Cash and his song hurt. In it his wife June put in an appearance stood on the stairs. She died not long afterwards and a little while later so did Cash. A true love story in my mind…anyway enjoy the video…..

Yeah, that’s what they all say 😉

Good news on the scan and a weight off your mind.

Quite a morbid thing for a Priest to reinforce to you, particularly so at such a happy time in a couple’s lives. Then again I suppose, like everyone, some have a sunny disposition and others not so much.

Kenwright would have made a show for the ages out of the occasion whereas I find it all quite underwhelming myself.

You have to be so careful what you say Pete ,a lad I worked with told his bride "if you ever leave me I will kill you " she used it later in the divorce saying he had threatened her life! I don't know who is the more stupid the lawyer for putting it in or the one who granted the divorce based on it .

Good morning all on this cloudy day , I hope all are well and had a good night . I never thought about it but yes they should have made more of the last game if only for the many fans not able to attend ,I too would be there struggling to get in ,the times I jumped the turnstiles to get in for a match ! I wouldn't get my foot over the top of the old ones now . My only worry is that the police can and do keep it all in check for the safety of all concerned and they know that the GOTAGM group are determined to try their luck .
Have a great day allCOYB

They can police much greater crowds than will be there but are choosing not to. I suspect the club are very content with their message as they themselves just seem to want it over and done with sadly.

Really? I think that is a most bizarre thing to say to your wife . How else was she supposed to interpret the phrase?
