@Barnfred 55 the tribute band thing is interesting. .

I'd always shunned them until I saw "Phil Collins " and " Freddie Mercury " on cruises and they were genuinely fantastic.

On the other hand I walked out of a " Kate Bush " at the Philharmonic Music Room after 4 songs.

I think I have missed out on Kate Bush but all my older mates, particularly the Metallers, love her which surprises me. Not exactly like for like genres.

Kate is , for my money , the most creative , inventive and interesting pop artist in the last 50 years AT.

However ( a bit like Van Morrison ) I accept that her voice - which I love - is not for everyone.

And who are they actually a tribute to ? And yes I quite like ( good ) tribute bands,

Talking of which ( hopefully ) Mrs J has booked us tickets to almost her favourite Fleetwood Bac lol

The first time you saw them you called them a Florence tribute band.

Fleetwood Bac are an annual feature at Falmouth week. I've seen them 3 times. Very good.even if some of the wigs look a bit naff.

Sorry guys. It's not letting me post a pic tonight for some reason. But I'm having a local Cornish gin in honour of Jazzy. It's Plymouth dry gin with fevertree tonic, a wedge of lemon and a slice of kiwi.

Cals brother was the same. They tended to love her. And if you ask them quietly I vet quite a few would own up to liking ABBA too.

Haha. I wondered whether youd notice.

Anyway, the distillery sources it's water from the Tamar which, as we know, us a Cornish river. So I think it deserves an honourary listing as a Cornish gin.

I'm afraid I'm not in the Kate Bush fan club. I find her and her music intensely irritating. However life would be very dull if we all liked the same things.
I have no music experiences lined up until November when it's the Boomtown Rats 50th anniversary tour. That makes me feel so old......
The Australian flights have come out for next year so I'm going to book soon. We will probably be away for the whole of February 2026 - not necessarily staying in Perth for the whole time but I haven't planned that much yet.
Hoping for three points tomorrow- I didn't realise we were kicking off at 8pm.

Evening everyone, sorry you are still feeling a bit ropey @Val P , hope you are better soon and cuddling Sweet Cicely. Exciting news about the new baby @anjelikaferrett, hope all goes well. Talking of grandchildren Hannah had the day off today - teacher training day - so rang early to ask if she could come round as her Mum was going to the hairdressers. “ I don’t want to go with her. There’s no signal over there and I can’t be without WiFi for two hours!”
Don’t mind a tribute act, Let there B/Dc, The Very Beautiful South also saw Australian Pink Floyd a few years ago and they were excellent. Me and Mr G. used to roadie for a Pink Floyd tribute band some years ago, unfortunately one ego got in the way and they disbanded, a pity because they were really rather good.
We have two youngest grandkids for a sleepover tomorrow night, their parents are off on a jolly, they had better be tucked up in bed by 8pm or there’ll be trouble.

March is tribute band month for us, off to see Bat out of Hell next week , the musical, not really a band though , then The Eagles at the end of the month .
