Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Anj suggested you were going to a restaurant and when you said she was close I thought of that place next to the Yuet Ben , if it’s still there. I know you enjoy your cooking.
This one is a big purpose built one about 100 m beyond China Town that's beenthereabout 20 years. Think it's called Chung Wah and it stocks pretty much everything.

Good morning all on this fine day .I hope all are well and had a good night . Off to the shops today ,the boss wants shushi something I have had many times but never "got in to " ,I picked up a thick dark soya sauce and it changed the whole taste ,still sadly wasabi ,ginger and soy flavoured whatever but a richer less salty taste .
Have a great day all COYB

Morning Mascoteers , a collective slap on the wrist ( can you even say that nowadays?) for us all as I had to scroll to halfway down page 2 before I found y'all.

Off to a record fair today and after my holy grail - a first pressing of Aja by Steely Dan. Probably won't find that but as Mrs J says I'm sure I will find something else to buy 😂.

Mrs Js birthday tomorrow as she joins the 64 club. Got a nice surprise planned for her.

I've resolved to stop watching the news as the future seems so doom laden but I suspect that will only last 48hours.

I should stick to the advice of one of my lyrical heroes Paul Simon who wrote " I get all the news that I need from the weather report " ( The wonderful Only Living Boy in New York - that's proper music by the way Fred).

Talking about music. Me and my kopite mate ( yes I have just the one ) have resolved to do at least 6 live gigs this year.

We've already been to see Darius Brubeck ( son of Dave - Take 5 etc) and later this month we are venturing to deepest Darwen ( yikes ) to see a Steely Dan tribute band Nearly Dan 😂 - supposed to be superb by the way).

Anyway have a lovely day everyone.
Sorry mate I meant to reply to this. Always believed that "proper music" is in the ear of the beholder, to re-coin a popular phrase. If you enjoy it, then to you it's proper music. Wouldn't life be boring if we all liked the same things. :)

I'm also sensing a bit of a dig there at the Brit awards and modern music in general, which I kind of get. Popular modern music just doesn't do it for me either. I find it all very samee and boring. But once you dig beneath the surface there's lot's of brilliant innovative new stuff still being produced if you're prepared to open your mind to it. And the Brit's is like every industry awards show ever, full of self praise and slaps on the back. But I think there's still hope for the Brits. This year a traditional jazz band won best group, against stalwarts such as Coldplay and The Cure too. And another winner counts a classical pianist and composer plus a jazz guitarist amongst their line-up. Last year Raye absolutely cleaned up and she takes pretty much a full orchestra on tour with her. So on occasion The Brits have been known to reward pure talent as well as commercial success and popularity.

It was also great to see some of the younger winners use the platform to speak out against the problems facing the music industry right now, rather than just thanking their mums and basking in their win.

As with most everything that I post much was tongue in cheek Fred though I can't deny that our prefer our Argy Charly to the multi award winning Charlie

Good evening all. It's been a lovely day here - spring is really on its way. The cat has been outside for most of the day which is a sure sign the weather is warming up.
My car has been in the garage for two days. There's a problem with the braking system. This is not what I need. It's going to be expensive and won't be ready until next week - parts on order. The Lord giveth and The Lord taketh away - my backdated pay rise I got last month will be totally wiped out!
We have a baby date. Daughter will be having a C section on 24th April so our little boy will be here soon. I'm very excited.

Our little one is six months old today and we can’t imagine life without her! It will be wonderful for you all and so exciting! It’s killing me at the moment as I won’t see her because I don’t want to give her this chest infection so it’s been two weeks 🙁. I’m hoping today I can manage to stay awake as I’ve been sleeping 18 hours per day at least this week. Mr P is loving the freedom, has done a bit of decorating and generally had what he wants on tv.
Have a great Friday all but I doubt I’ll be joining in the gin sesh tonight 💙

Get well soon Val. Hopefully another 3 points courtesy of Davy Moyes cheers you up tomorrow.

Housework day today after 2 solid days of gardening.

Mrs J taking me down the pub this afternoon as I've been soooo good 😊.

The weekend looks like if will be gorgeous so a bit of gardening and then sitting in the sun with a glass of vino listening to our brave blue boys playing those awful thugs from Wolverhampton off the pitch.

Have a lovely day everyone.

Thanks @jazzy, my neighbour over the road has it and they told him it was pneumonia- all I can say is I’ve never been so wiped out by anything in my life. 3 points would be amazing. An afternoon at the pub sounds lovely- have a lovely time with Mrs J 🥂

Have you been checked for pneumonia Val ? I had no voice one day nothing more so luckily my BIL was a doctor and I called in on the way home to find I had a litre of fluid in one lung ,just a course of the doctor's favourite and two weeks off work and all was good . When we were kids pneumonia was a killer , I refer back to those days in sickness it makes me feel grateful for progress .
