Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Yes we splashed out on Club View , I’ve got OAP (!) price for next year along with one other, three more will qualify for concessions the next season. My mate’s son is only 30 but I think the exclusive bar swung him and a couple of his mates. It’s the equivalent to our spec in the Upper Bullens and we’ve said if we have to change our match day habits then we’ll have some “luxury 🤣” .
That’s brilliant- do it in style! I’ll need my vertigo tablets I think 😂😂

Well earned Jonny. It must be very real for you now that we’re leaving Goodison.

In the end it didn’t work out because of the way that it was organised eg dependent on how long you had been a season ticket holder, and some people didn’t want to wait until the end to get their tickets in case their preferred areas had gone. So we are all in Upper South so far as close as we can be and five of us definitely next to each other, some on the row behind us. Some can’t get them til next week I think. That’s because of their age ie not being a season ticket holder when they were very young, which doesn’t seem fair but no matter what system was used someone would likely be unhappy with it.
I’ve never been in the top balcony but I’ve been in the main stand. I think I’ve been in all the others albeit pre season friendlies rather than league games. Have you got yours?
I've been everywhere apart from the "new" Park End , although I did go in the away end in the 80s when we played Plymouth in an FA cup.replay because some of my mates from Plymouth came up for the game. Very strange experience

Yes the last game is fast approaching, I’m sure I’ll be emotional on the day but I’ve only ever gone on my own or with the same mates as now so it won’t be the same as for people with family memories. I’ve been thinking I’ll miss going in The Thomas Frost as much as the ground :pint2:.

Morning all, grey, drizzly and damp here which fits the mood, I’m afraid. DIL’s Mum is in critical care she was admitted to hospital on Thursday evening after a two hour wait in an ambulance in the hospital car park and a further two hours in a corridor. The family were called in Friday night but she rallied yesterday so it’s now a case of wait and see. She has cancer so the long term outlook isn’t too good. In other news grandkid no 4 has chicken pox. Her school dance club is appearing in a show at the local theatre on Wednesday. She is able to take part if her spots have scabbed over, I hope they do, she will be devastated if she can’t go. Sorry I can’t be more upbeat.
Have a good day, all.💙

It’s so sad about the DIL’s mum. I would be absolutely fuming with a two hour car park wait and then in a corridor. I’m so glad I stood my ground when I took kay in before Xmas and she was then seen by doctors, X-ray done and in a ward bed in a matter of minutes. Pushing all A&E into certain hospitals sounds great from a use of A&E personnel but dear god these delays and corridor waits really don’t do the patient nor the family any good at all. Hopefully the grandchild’s chicken pox heals in time. Hope they both do ok……

That's sad news about your daughterin law's Mum. I hope No 4 can be in the show. It would be so disappointing for her. X

Hi folks. That result really brightened my day. But where on earth did 9 minutes added on come from in a match with no VAR?
We've been visiting our friends this afternoon- the one who nearly lost his leg ( and his life) after getting bitten by something in India. He's so much better - his leg actually looks like a leg now and not like something hanging in a Spanish butcher shop! Still going to be a long job but he's now talking about booking some cruises for next year so he must be feeling better in himself.
I chased up my partial retirement application on Friday - after a colleague rang me and said hers had been done and dusted in 6 weeks. Mine has been in HR (allegedly)for two months waiting for the change of hours to be approved before I can send it to the Civil Service pension scheme for them to process their bit. I strongly suspect my Grade 7 ( boss's boss) forgot about it.
Enjoy your Sunday evening everyone x

Thanks, you certainly did the right thing standing your ground, unfortunately DIL wasn’t able as she was told to sit in the ambulance until they decided whether to admit her Mum. I won’t go into details but whoever is in charge at P’boro should hang their head in shame - in fact if it was a member of my family I’d want their head on a pole.
