Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I remember trips down to Castletownbere in the south west of Cork to visit my uncle, and the village shop doubled up as a bar of a night. It was basically the back room with benches around the outside. It was run by an Englishwoman too strangely enough.
Cork is famous as well for it’s English market. A great part of the world but I havent been there in about 15 years.

It wasnt that subtle! But quite beautiful. It only happened the once, but what happened cannot be explained away. Basically, in the weeks after Nik went, on my daily walk I asked her if Guinness was with her.

The next day, same walk, 2 identical, tiny black and white birds kinda waited for me. Then, for about 10 or 15 minutes, instead of flying off as I approached, (as birds always do), they followed me. One at the heel of my left foot, the other a few feet away. I stop. They stop. I walk, they come with me. It dawned on me, so I spoke to the birds as they looked up at me. I asked Nikki if it is her and Guinness. The two birds tweeted at me, tweeted/looked at each other, tweeted at me again, and flew away.

Never happened before, nor since.
Things happen to me a lot, so much so that I sometimes wonder whether I'm making it up. But things like smelling her favourite perfume in the air, which has happened 2 or 3 times, seem so real to me.

Anyway, it makes me feel more peaceful believing Cal's watching over me.

I have posted some of the other stuff that happened, and whilst not religious, Nikki had a firm thought about the after life/spirit life, what ever you want to label it as. She always said she would prove she was right if she left before me.
I never went looking for stuff, like I dont think every single white feather is from her for example. But the stuff that happened beat biology, and medicine, at least in how we know about it.
Cal always said white bird feathers represented her mum watching over her. I must admit I do tend to notice the feathers more now than i used to, but I do live in Cornwall so what do you expect. lol

Good morning everyone, just recovering from a night out in Glasgow with a mate whose a Rangers/Everton fan.
Had a really good meal and visited a few hostelries, just what I needed.
Hopefully today we can replicate the form we showed last week, I reckon if we score first we can go on to win 2-0, I don't usually predict scores but I just have a good feeling about today.
You guys and girls have a great day, UTFT.
Think I'd be happy with a draw LT. Our results haven't been great on the road since the covid shutout, and Fulham have found some good form of late. Think it will be a difficult match. Think it's also the first time we've come up against Silva since he left too. I didn't mind him as a manager. At least he tried to play decent football and, as with many of our past and current players, I thought a lot of the stick he got on here was well OTT. Much happier with Frank though but I still wish him well at Fulham. Just not today. ;)

Afternoon all. Lazy day for me today. Done all my fantasy football and ITV 7 chores and about to make my usual Saturday lunch of posh sausage butties. An afternoon of horse racing beckons, and I'm having my spicy chicken fried rice dish for tea so the hour or so I'll spend cooking that will take my mind off the match later.

Have a good weekend everyone. ;)

Hey guys, hope everyone is well.

Hope we get the away hoodoo lifted today. I have so much more faith in this side but my god I'm scarred lol it's so hard not to still think if the awful, no effort tossers show up lol Thankfully Lampard has seen right through a lot of them an that for me is not only refreshing but it vindicates a lot of my thoughts about a lot of players.

Weather is really crap, temp today is on the edge of wanting heating on. I've just been thinking recently how good it was the temps still mid to high teens at this time of year so we don't have to start lining the pockets of the greedy energy companies. On one hand climate change is bad, on the other, if it saves me money, happy days lol

Have a good weekend chaps.

Oh, my sister is getting my Nephew and Great Nephew a stadium tour. Anyone ever had one, the only reason I am encouraging it is because we are moving otherwise, better going to a game I reckon, can't show them the trophy room, it's full of cobwebs.

I feel exactly the same as you about Silva, he's a likeable guy and it just didn't work out in the end, I actually felt sorry for him in the end.
I like Frank, we should stick with him, he had an absolutely massive job to do when he came in both on and off the field and you can see him growing as a manager with every game.

I have done the stadium tour a few times and I highly recommend. Getting to walk out of the tunnel as Z Cars plays is the highlight.

They will be too young to appreciate it but the Dixie Dean lounge is on the tour and it’s good to see how the other half live!
