Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I’m more of a mind that Guinness travels well as long as treated with respect be it time to pour or clean pipes. Some of the Irish bars in Liverpool are excellent and you can forget you are away from home. Others (Ranelagh St) are very Kopitey.

I bet your hound had a long and happy life ?

He did indeed mate. Very happy. His last memory before he went was me feeding him some cold lamb and cheese by hand. He swallowed the lot, gave my hand a sniff and a lick, then went.

I enjoy seeing everyone's pics so much! I don't travel a lot right now, so I'd thought I would share some pics from a trip I took back in 2019 to Zion National Park in Utah. I'll have more recent pics of areas closer to Vegas to share...once I can find the cable to get the photos off my DSLR haha :oops:View attachment 188752View attachment 188753View attachment 188754View attachment 188755
Beautiful pics.

When you see the variety of the American landscape from snow covered mountains to sunny beaches I understand why many citizens don’t have passports.

I have no doubt they are together up there Roydo and subtly letting you know it.

It wasnt that subtle! But quite beautiful. It only happened the once, but what happened cannot be explained away. Basically, in the weeks after Nik went, on my daily walk I asked her if Guinness was with her.

The next day, same walk, 2 identical, tiny black and white birds kinda waited for me. Then, for about 10 or 15 minutes, instead of flying off as I approached, (as birds always do), they followed me. One at the heel of my left foot, the other a few feet away. I stop. They stop. I walk, they come with me. It dawned on me, so I spoke to the birds as they looked up at me. I asked Nikki if it is her and Guinness. The two birds tweeted at me, tweeted/looked at each other, tweeted at me again, and flew away.

Never happened before, nor since.

That is class mate!

I do have strong faith and do believe that our loved ones are at our shoulders. It’s lovely that they always find a way to remind us that they are there.

Fortunately, it's still quite mild out and looks to continue like that for the next few weeks - dropping it to 12C rather than the nice high teens we've been having.

I don't mind rain really after having to stand in it for years, but when the rain and wind sets in alongside the cold it becomes quite uncomfortable.

I work with a Pole, and he's adamant that he'd rather be stood in the dry cold of -10C to -15C in Eastern European rather than the wet cold we get in the UK.
My aunt (now passed) emigrated to Canada in 1951. She always said the cold of the Canadian winter was preferable to the cold and damp of Britain.

I have posted some of the other stuff that happened, and whilst not religious, Nikki had a firm thought about the after life/spirit life, what ever you want to label it as. She always said she would prove she was right if she left before me.
I never went looking for stuff, like I dont think every single white feather is from her for example. But the stuff that happened beat biology, and medicine, at least in how we know about it.

She has certainly proved the afterlife to you mate. Every real couple has that ability to communicate without speaking or making a gesture even. You know what they are thinking and how they are feeling without a word being needed. That spiritual bond is far too strong to be ended by a leaving of this plain. Physical life really is just a journey to the next place and that bond you shared with Nikki continues all the while.

Like I said, neither of us were/are religious, in the "go to church or mass" way. But even the vicar who I arranged her funeral with expressed amazement when I told him about the first thing that happened.

"That is a beautiful story Mark, and I cannot explain it. But treasure it. She obviously thought the world of you".

That was a plant that flowers in June appearing in the garden, in full bloom, in October. Kin mad.

Hi all. Train pass from yesterday was still valid today, not being one to pass up a freebie, especially in first class, we have been to London today. Lovely day for walking so went to Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, saw Buckingham Palace, at Mr G’s request, despite it not being good for my republican credentials I agreed in the interests of family harmony. lol We then went to Camden Lock as grandson wanted to go there for street food. Walked back alongside the canal to Kings Cross. Here’s some pics.
