Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

We used to hollow out sugar beet.
Great thing about growing up in a small place was that once the ‘Trick or Treat’ culture briefly arrived in the 90s it was hilariously pounced upon. None of our local shops would sell flour or eggs to an under 16 without a note from their mother.

Fully aware this sounds like I grew up on Craggy Island ?

Really strong winds and torrential rain is getting in the way of my morning constitutional but at least it’s Friday. The weather is meant to clear by lunch and a long walk then is the plan.

Bit of work to do today but not busy. Takeout for tea is the plan.

Hope you all have nice days ahead Mascoteers.
Similar to here, the weather is pretty dire at the moment due to the high winds and rain, although it's meant to clear by late morning.

I did stick the waterproof coat on and head out but turned back within a minute. A hood is no good to you when the rain is blowing sideways into your face.
Fortunately, it's still quite mild out and looks to continue like that for the next few weeks - dropping it to 12C rather than the nice high teens we've been having.

I don't mind rain really after having to stand in it for years, but when the rain and wind sets in alongside the cold it becomes quite uncomfortable.

I work with a Pole, and he's adamant that he'd rather be stood in the dry cold of -10C to -15C in Eastern European rather than the wet cold we get in the UK.

This is going to be it now isn’t it- wetter and milder in both winter and summer.

I don’t mind walking in rain as long as I’m not going to work. I hope the forecast of a nice afternoon is right though as I need my exercise done if I’m getting take out later.

There is a Polish Engineer working in my house the past year basically (oil spill) and he has said the same about our weather. He has shown me photos of his home and the snow filled forests are like something from a book. Him and I have got on like a house on fire I must say and he has even got me into a couple of Polish horror authors ?

Gonna reach 22 degrees where I am today. Never experienced this so late in October before.
