I'm also reading about the drama unfolding because of Finland's intention to join NATO. How do you feel about it? Given Russia's unnecessary aggression towards Ukraine it seems justified for your government, and Sweden to apply for membership.

Happy Friday lovely people!
It is raining here in Asheville this morning and I'm very grateful as it will provide some water to my plants and seeds, but most importantly it will wash out some of the heavy pollen there is in the air and on surfaces such as my car that was covered with pollen.
Didn't make it to the gym this morning as I'm having issues with my left hamstring so I'm trying to be careful with it and not irritate the injury more. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to it soon as I really enjoy my workouts.

Been overcast this morning but looks like it's starting to brighten up. So a choice of finishing off the bedding plants and giving the BBQ a spring clean, or going for a walk this afternoon. I'll decide after lunch.

Also picked up some Cornish strawberries and a new Cornish clotted cream ice cream I've not tried before. It's from the Callistick farm in North Cornwall which cal and I actually visited once many moons ago.

Afternoon all. Lovely day in Liverpool. Still windy though. This morning's adventure in super organised Dad's house was where to find the pegs to hang out some washing. Ended up having to message my brother on his hols in Spain. The reply - in a Celebrations ( popular brand of chocolates Sassy) tin on the shelf to the left of the washer. Of course they are! Where else? Imagine going looking for chocolate and finding pegs. You'd be gutted.?? Dad should be home tomorrow after one more dialysis session.
I think it is a good thing but whether we will be safer or not is another debate .I feel that it would not physically affect us here in the middle of nowhere but we would suffer from power and food shortages etc. He just needs to be stopped ,it strikes me that the people who live on the border (with Russia) will see what has happened and that could be a way that the real truth will get through to the Russian people but who knows .
Sweden joining as well would be a show of solidarity and could help .
I do believe that although he would be angry if it escalated Finland would be of no real significance and he would have to face bigger threats than us here .

I agree that we definitely need to stand up to fascist bullies, which is basically what he is. But I also worry about his mindset. I fear that Sweden and Finland joining NATO could be like a red rag to a bull and who know's where that would lead.
If it were possible, I would like to have seen some sort of treaty set up whereby both Finland and Sweden would automatically become part of NATO but only if they were ever attacked by Russia. That would provide the same deterrent to Putin but without the perceived risk of NATO expanding along his borders. I'm not sure whether that is possible but it seems a logical solution to me.
Shame you haven't messaged the two governments .I too have no idea but may be it is a process and therefore not doable in a flash .What did you decide for the afternoon we are all on baited breath ?
