Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning. Thanks for your good wishes. Feeling so much better today. Still don't feel like eating though. Having calmed down slightly from yesterday my thoughts are Mina is key to us. We play significantly better with him in the side. Pickford was outstanding and why there is constant sniping about his England position is beyond me. Richarlison has been our best player for quite some time and I always knew there was a player in Iwobi. He's starting to show it. Credit to Lampard too. The mess can't be laid at his door and he's doing his best to fix it. I hope we can survive 9 more points might do it.

My brother was on his way to the match yesterday. He didn't make it. His car was wiped out at the end of the M57 by a motor home doing 60 through a red light. He and his partner are black a d blue, a bit shaken up but OK.

Have a fine day everyone x
Hi Anj, first of all, Glad you're feeling a bit better, may that continue, secondly absolutely spot on with your match analogy. Thirdly wow, how lucky is your brother and his partner, that could have been so much worse.

I hope they are OK mentally too Anj. When something happens like that which is totally not your fault and unexpected, it can make you really nervous . My sister was injured in an accident in her early 20s and she is still a very nervous passenger 40 years later.

Btw, I agree with your assessment of Iwobi, he has been one of the players that have improved so much this season not only on the field but also his leadership outside of the field. I read a very good article about him wanting to keep Everton up and how important it was for the fans to continue being behind the team especially now and how they wanted to give it their best for them.

Happy Monday dear friends.

I know it was just one win and we still need a few more, but what a glorious feeling it is to beat one of the big league teams. My husband and I keep talking about it the whole day yesterday. Even though the hubby doesn’t participate here, I have converted him into an Evertonian and he was feeling so proud yesterday :)

Busy week ahead of me, we have a big event tomorrow at my College for all our medical programs so I’ll be helping setting that up and getting everything organized for us to have a successful event tomorrow. I hope everyone has a lovely day.

Arriba los Caramelos :) Xxx
Sounds like you've recruited another sound blue there Sassy?
Hope your college event is a success, I'm sure if you're part of the organising it will be impressive.
I watched the game with my youngest lad at home yesterday and we're still buzzing, when you're down there struggling a win is so much bigger and against one of the bigger boys it was off the scale.

Just got home pretty pished but you
Know what I fukin love Everton
And me and Fred where there when we on the cup when we won the only cup we won in Europe

Night night my fellow blue noses
The amazing thing about that Duc, apart from not even remembering that photo being taken, is that you and I lived around the corner from each other for years, frequented the same watering holes and had so many mutual acquaintances but never actually knew each other. We were probably in each other's company after that pic was taken without even realising it.

When I showed that pic to Alan McCrystal when I was up in Liverpool in January, he picked you out straight away, but couldn't recognise me even though I was sitting next to him at the time. lol

Brother just sent me a pic of his crash. Spoke to them both this morning, they are very stiff and sore and covered in bruises. His partner got the worst of the impact, she was in the passenger seat. They did go to hospital afterwards, no broken bones. Worryingly, he said none of the airbags deployed. Could have been so much worse though - I think my Mum was looking after her youngest yesterday! 1651489885824.webp

Looks like they've been very lucky Anj, in that they didn't suffer worse injuries I mean. Scary.

Yeah. I mean we still have a mountain to climb don't we. But it's not over until the fat lady sings. And there's no way we should count our chickens before they're hatched. :p
You are absolutely right Fred , it's a marathon not a sprint.

BTW I always prefered Marathons to Snickers - I know they are the same thing - but Snickers just sounds too American ( sorry Sassy)

Here's hoping we're the tortoise and either Leeds or Burnley are the hare. lol

By the way, you aren't insinuating Sass is American are you? Dangerous ground Sir. The whips will be out again.lol
