Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

House move went brilliantly. Really pleased with apartment , relatively new and really good condition. Brilliant removal men and all the family mucking in. We
were able to move in to a beautifully furnished apartment. Just got to find where everything is! Beautiful gardens (no work involved Joey!) lawns, trees, shrubs and loads of wild life. Really pleased.
Had a telephone appointment with Consultant yesterday, they are going ahead with Radio Therapy on my big 'C'. Since I went on my new tablets (17 per day!) I am eating a lot better and have put a bit of weight back on.
Great to hear the move went well M. Fingers crossed the radio therapy goes well. Do you have far to travel for the treatment. It would help if your daughter can take you as one of the side effects is it makes you a bit drowsy so driving here yourself isn't recommended. Have they said how long the treatment will go on for. When Cal had it she had daily sessions over a 3 week period, each session taking about 45 minutes. It may be different for you.

Bit quiet in here this morning. is it a bank holiday or something?

Just off down to the bimonthly farmers market that they hold in the village hall. Last time I went was before first lockdown but I noticed a sign up when I was out walking the other day. Not sure if this is their first one since covid but a good sign that things are getting a little back to normal again. I'm running out of my favourite piccalilli so I'm hoping one of the stalls will stock it. I'm hoping to also see my favourite bottle beer on offer, Spingo. Newmarket racing later with the Guineas. I forgot it was on yesterday but probably saved myself a few bob. I've not had a winner since Ladies day at Aintree and my fund is rapidly diminishing.

Have a good day all.

So glad everything went smoothly for you and you like your new surroundings. Also good news that you are eating better and have put some weight on. Onwards and upwards Mr M x

Afternoon guys, been out visiting my niece this morning, a bit concerned that she is having problems with her neck and shoulder and has headaches, I really hope she doesn't have what I have but her mam has fibromyalgia and lupus.

We also think the little one might be allergic to daisy as his eyes puffed up a bit, I was allergic to animals when younger especially cats and dogs but I love dogs so much I always put up with it but I have no problems with Daisy whatsoever.

I've been given IPTV off my nieces partner until I can afford it, my internet is a lot lot slower than theirs and they're paying less than half me which has proper peed me off and means the iptv is buffering a lot which is putting me off getting it.

Great pics Fred looks beautiful. Hope everyone's having a nice weekend thus far.

Good afternoon all. Did overtime this morning, Another absolute pig of a case that my boss asked me to do because we've had it for ages. I supposed I should take it as a compliment that he asks me to do them. However I think he's taking advantage of me. But let's not dwell on that. It's a bit of a hit and miss day today, sunny but then cloudy and not as warm as I thought it would be.

I have a cooking question for you @Barnfred 55 Tesco had lemongrass in their reduced bins last night - 10p. So I bought some. Not a scooby what to do with it lol. I do know it goes in Thai dishes but how do you introduce it and I'm sure, just by looking at it, that you can't leave it in at the end of the cooking process.

Mr F gearing up for Newmarket. Our tour guide (ex jockey) last week reckoned Luxembourg is a cert for the Guineas. I was quite shocked that in spite of living and working in Newmarket, he chose an O'Brien horse.

I have no particular plans for the weekend. Might get out and do a bit of gardening on Monday.

Is this as reliable as your last tip from your Newmarket trip Anj?

Re the lemongrass, some people chop it up but it stays very stringy even when cooked and is not that palatable tbh. It's the taste that you want out of it. I use it when I do a Thai green or red curry. I normally just break it in 2 and remove it before serving. Bruise it first (posh term for giving it a smack with a hammer) because that helps it release the flavour.

I fancy a sip or two of their special.
Yeah the Special is my favourite and the local store sells it for £4 a pop, so not cheap. It's a dark ale, not quite a porter but has that same burnt hops bittery taste. Probably my favourite ale but careful because it is very strong. At The blue Anchor in Helston, where they actually brew it, they have it on tap and it's even nicer.

Thank you. I'll have a go. There might be curry on the menu over the weekend. I would take Luxembourg with a pinch of salt after the last effort! ? ?

My son drives all the way down from Nottingham to take me (he is retired!). Not sure about how many sessions? 3 sounds familiar.
