Had a lovely afternoon. Having seen Gwladys"s pics yesterday I took another walk down Carwinion woods to see if the bluebells were out and they were, in abundance. I took 3 pics but I could have taken 3 dozen. Also out were wild garlic, wild geranium and countless others I don't know the names of. Amazing the difference in 3 weeks.
Lots of friendly dogs again, all wanting to say hello, including one called Ely who decided he was going to christen my clean jeans with his muddy paws.
Decided to carry on down to the secluded beach ar the bottom if the valley. Its on the Helford River and this side of the river is a reL sun trap. Bit stoney but really good swimming. Only sorry I didn't take my swi.ming shorts and a towel. It was beautiful and seemed at warmer than the 13 C forecast.
Sat on beach for half an hour and returned via the coastal path and up past Bisloe House, a NT property where Cal used to work. This brings you back into the village from the other side, which just happens to take you past the village pub. Well after a 4 mile hile I reckon I deserved a pint of cider.
Another milestone. First time I'd been in the local on my own since Cal passed. Onwards and upwards. Sat outside and got into a conversation on football with 2 guys, one a Rangers fan and the other United. Say no more. Anyway could have stayed and chatted but I was making my braised steak for tea which takes over 2 hours to cook.
Said steak is now in the oven and I'm sitting out in the back having a cold beer and catching the last of the sun before it disappears over the horizon.
Not going to follow the game tonight. Well it worked against United?
