Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Gosh that’s terrible behaviour, what makes these people think they have the right?
Hope Frankie isn’t going to take after his namesake Frank Spencer - he was a bit accident prone.😆
You made me think back 60 years ,I worked with a fella who wasn't the brightest he was a beaut for malapropisms .He used to say "I am accident prune " and "I don't want to deputise my job " a lovely lad to work with ,he had fought at Arnhem ,hence the nickname "Arnhem Bob " .Thanks for the memory .

Good morning all on this wet day , I hope all are well and had a good night's rest .
Well said tyres and done and dusted ,it is sad what tires me out now compared to my efforts in the past but I am trying to ramp up my jobs for the summer .See what I did there ? I have started cutting down trees( whips )growing in the ditches that surround our land and roads in the countryside ,no I am not doing everywhere ! They start to look unkempt so need to be gotten rid of and they make good firewood after drying .
I hope Jimmy gets a cap as he surely deserves it . Have a great day all COYB.

I don't post often in this thread, but do read it regularly to see how everyone is doing.
I noticed recently several posts about litter louts and their lack of civil responsibility. It's a real bug-bear of mine and basically I'm posting this morning to vent my anger.
This morning my dog got his back paws entangled in a length of fishing line that one of these morons had discarded. It was tightly wrapped around both paws and it took me a good 5 minutes to free him.(To add insult to injury it was hammering down with hailstones at the time)
Hanging would be too good for these selfish, irresponsible, air headed imbeciles who have no thought for the environment and local wildlife etc.
:rant:RANT OVER! I'll have a coffee and calm down now.

This time last week I stood in the garden for 5 minutes enjoying a coffee to gather my thoughts. This morning I am inside with heat on watching hailstones batter the windows. March is the hardest month to know what to wear 😀

The weather was particularly bad today, I felt sorry for the window cleaner who was outside in it while we were nice and cosy inside. I went to ask him to come on in for a cup of tea but he’d already cleared off and I don’t blame him…

Civil responsibility. That’s the very word for it. David Cameron tried to encapsulate it again with his Big Society pipe dream but really (for me) that was just a throwaway remark to push more responsibility away from central govt.

Is it too simple to blame social media and online lives for the decline in civil responsibility? Do young people really know how to connect anymore in the real world? If they aren’t involved in hobbies and past times in their school days I don’t think they know how to act in society never mind understand they have a responsibility to contribute to it. Yes, litter is at the smaller scale of things but it all leads to lack of concern for others ultimately.
