Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Christmas adverts in full swing now to part us from our hard earned pennies. I love it all so I’m not complaining though won’t decorate the house before December as a rule!

@blue1948 can I assume Finnish TV is the same with Lapland on your doorstep?
Yes indeed ,up to our eyes in stuff . Although I am sort of complaining we have had two deer lights out for weeks now as it is getting dark here and they brighten up the back .

Good morning all on this dull day here ,I hope all are well and had a good rest last night .Still no news on the wife's blood test ,I think the doctor must have passed them on to the arthritis specialist ,on the good side no more sign of the problem ,we are both on the wagon just in case that was the trigger and are losing weight ,saving money and quite content in the bargain.
Have a great day all COYB
Doorstep definition - 1000 kilometers Hee hee

Every year for probably the past 15 years , maybe longer, we’ve had two small “ Deer “ in our back garden lit up so you can see them as you come up our drive, moving heads and all . They’ve been replaced a couple of times , don’t go up until December and Christmas doesn’t begin until “ The boys are back in town “ . It makes Mrs bl ( and me! ) happy when I put them up one afternoon so she sees them when she returns home.

No saying truer than a second childhood .

Dog sitting today and whilst out on our walk we passed by the local community centre amongst remembrance display was a wreath of yellow poppies with a note attached “For the Canary Girls”. I know the purple poppies for the animals have become the norm but I’ve never seen yellow ones before.
They can do any flower in any colour now thanks to genetic engineering .

Good morning all on this murky one here ,I hope all are well and had a good night's rest . Not much happening here except the gutters ,I had a pleasant surprise that the gutters hardest to get at at the back of the house were almost clear and didn't need more tah a flush out with a hose ,so just the side over the kitchen window today and all done.
Have a great day all COYB

What even is a Canary Girl?
Female munitions workers during WW1 and 11 whose skin and hair turned yellow due to prolonged exposure to yellow TNT explosives. My Nan was one - although I don't remember her being yellow. In spite of having 9 kids she was sent to work in a munitions factory in Chorley. She stayed there all week and came home at the weekend. Because her Mum lived with them it was deemed that she could mind the kids while Nan went to Chorley.
