Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this lovely day here ,I hope all are well and had a good night . I echo Fred's remark as I often come on here and i am stunned at the genuine feelings shared between what were strangers -not so true now - with only the team in common . Have a great day all COYB
P.S.
It will be interesting to see who Moyes retains ,to quell my ire I have been telling myself that he can only do so much in one window ,we shall see but you can all expect some expletives if Gana isn't kept on .

I’ve had the privilege of meeting four (also @Val P’s husband and son) it’s like meeting up with a friend you have known for years, just so good, no awkward silences, mind you I can talk for England so that may account for that.

Little decision made over the weekend that excites me and scares me in equal measure. Gaelic football is my passion. I played a decent level and have coached from U10 to Senior Reserve over the years. I decided this year to take a year out as I’m flat out with work and have 2 sons to watch etc.

A good mate in another club has roped me into helping out with their GAA For All programme. A team for kids and young adults with disabilities. Maybe group is a better descriptior than team as we won’t really play a match but get everyone to participate in an event to celebrate our sport. To celebrate our GAA community.

These kids play at half time in the big events and all of them have a big day out in Croke Park every year. Fantastic initiative to further build community links and get everyone involved.

Every team I have coached before has a kid with additional needs but new territory to have have the whole squad like that. Privileged to be asked is the only way to look at it. I’m buzzing 😀
That's such a good thing for you to do. It will be so much fun and so rewarding- enjoy!

Good afternoon all. Not really Bank Holiday weather today - very windy and not very warm. We were thinking of a trip to Redcar races but decided that it would be freezing with the wind blowing in from the North Sea so cancelled that plan. Not much to report, apart from Mr F and I are doing our first bit of proper babysitting on Wednesday. Charlotte's partner has a son from a previous relationship, he's 9 and is visiting from today while it is his school's half term. He lives in Yorkshire with his Mum. So Charlotte, partner and him are going fishing for the day while we look after Frankie. It's an early start though - 6am!
I'm so glad we won yesterday- great finish to the season. Hopefully onwards and upwards from now on.

I forgot to mention ,the other day I was purloining some cuttings off a bush in the forest to make a hedge ,coming out of the forest downhill I was carrying bits of cuttings and watching to make sure I didn't drop the fruits of my efforts to look down and I was 20cm from an adder coiled up watching my foot .I had all my weight on said foot and at my age no way to skip down the hill . All went well and it scurried off into the grass but my heart stopped it was my closest call hopefully ever.

Bet that wasn’t good for the blood pressure!

Why are people so angry all the time. You have a better and more rewarding life if you're kind, not even kind, just minding your own business and not offending anyone. Being angry rarely ends well. Naive perhaps, but the world would be such a more pleasant place if people would just get a grip on their emotions.

That is why we are all in here .

Morning all, bright and sunny here but heavy rain forecast for later. Couple of days dog-sitting for us as son and family are off on a jolly to a gig in Manchester, don’t ask who - I’ve forgotten the name of the singer, although I’d probably never heard of them in the first place.🤣
Hope you are feeling better @jazzy and @anjelikaferrett, @Barnfred 55 and @Val P are still recovering well. Have you got over the shock of your encounter with the adder @blue1948, horrible things snakes. I know they say they are more frightened of you than you are of them - in my case they most certainly aren’t!
Have a good day, all💙
