Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all on this sunny day here ,we have no minus temps coming up so I will fit the summer tyres tomorrow .I hope all are well and had a good night . A well deserved win yesterday and even Moyes is close to accepting that we are safe .I cannot be bothered to see if it is possible for two of the bottom four to overtake us but I feel we have done enough ,from Moyes ' comments in the pre-match presser he said he had been too busy to visit BMD which seems to suggest he had the future planning on the table . I still think he has just been lucky so far and is still showing the old signs that peed us off last time ,yes I do understand that my dislike for him could be clouding my judgement but in my defence he still goes on about Harrison and Dukes having good games and is sorry Lindström has had an op .I would have any of them given the choice ,I do though realise the coming summer is going to be hard recruiting so many on a limited budget ,this is where I think it was a mistake to lose Kevin Thelwell as he was good at getting low cost signings . Have a great day all COYB
Hey I'm not a great lover of Davey boy either Blue, but even I can recognise that Harrison had a decent game yesterday by all accounts, and Doucs very cool finish won the game for us. I was against him coming back at the outset, but he's proved me wrong and I think he's fully earned the right to take us into the new stadium, and then some. Longer term I would like us to employ somebody a bit more modern/experimental. The closest we got to that was Silva and I honestly think we didn't give that enough time. Anyway, 1 loss in 11 (a 1-0 away defeat to the champions elect) was not on the dinner menu back in January.

I agree with most but ! A player who ruins more moves than he scores goals should give way to one who can do both . I agree over Silva hidnsight is a wonderful thing . I always felt this side had more in them than Dyche was getting and that is what my biased view is based on .

Haha. You even admit it's a biased view. There's no arguing with that mate.

We have just been for a walk and the Wood Anemone were in bloom ,I thought of your arboretum have you underplanted bulbs ?
Yes. When I planned the Arboretum in the 1st lockdown I planted 3000 daffodil bulbs and 750 crocuses.

The blue forget me nots are in bloom now.

Yesterday in the newly revamped tropical garden I planted 500 crocosmia which will come up this summer. Backbreaking stuff planting multiple bulbs but when it's done itx done and you get loads of bang for you buck.

Mrs J sowed lots of cosmos seeds yesterday and they will go into the tropical in a couple of months

Who would you have chosen with a poor squad and limited finances ?
I agree I didn’t like the way he left us but I was happy when he rejoined us, it’s not like we had loads of mangers banging on the door to be our next boss

Look at his record since he came back, who else would of got the same out of the same players that he took over

He’s got grey hair but we don’t care :)

I feel like it's time to step out of the naughty corner. I've got to be impressed with what he's done so far. It's nice to not have to be bothered about other team's results and doing maths in my head. So I think hes won me over. 🤣 I agree about Silva - we should have hung on to him for a bit longer.
Yes I’m the same as you, I really didn’t want Moyes back, but I can’t complain about what we see now. I remember looking at the April fixtures ages ago and thinking that’s it we will be gone- but we’ve got 4 points so far and we’ve had some results against Chelsea in the past and city have demonstrated that they are beatable this season. My husband jokes with me and says you’re not always right but you’re never wrong (the cheek). Anyway I’m happy to admit I was this time

I’m with you and Anj on this. After the way he left and indeed the build up to it (knife to a gunfight), I didn’t want him back. But he’s done a great job so far and no one can take that away from him…let’s just hope it continues this way……..

He has matured following his mixed experiences with the red mancs and hammers, and he seems to have learnt a great deal from which we are now benefitting.

When he left us I cried no tears. When he rejoined I was prepared to see what might happen without prejudice.

I am delighted with what he has done so far, and with the spark of traditional Everton style flowing football that is emerging from the turgid fog of sam and Dyche.
