Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Good morning all. Lots of exciting things going on. Happy birthday to your son @Val P . I still do cakes and balloons for my two as well. Interesting news from the world of metal from @Terrarian . I hope ypu get through your ancestral brick walls @Gwladysover . Meanwhile in County Durham it is freezing- frost again this morning. I think I've been too optimistic in my choice of clothes today - went for a 3/4 sleeved T shirt. The big fluffy cardi is back on now!
I hope we win tomorrow, it will be a really good boost for everyone connected with Everton.
Definitely still think I should put my thermal leggings away but still needed it seems 🥶

So anyway, had a call with the doctor today to discuss my blood test results from December. He said I had increased liver enzyme levels. I said that’ll be because I drink too much. Anyway, he advised me that I was only allowed 14 units. I am now sat in The Brick having had them and wondering if I should chance a couple more…
Be careful - your liver is for life not just Fridays, Saturdays …..

As an aside and judging that the average age of this thread is probs above 50, the fact that in Walton, Liverpool it has taken 2 months just to get a doctors telephone call consultation is pathetic. I have had one face to face last year and it took in excess of 300 calls to the surgery to get an appointment. To be fair I got a same day call back. The person who sorted that for me arranged one for herself a month ago. Had her personal and works phone on re-dial, over 430 calls. I was with the nurse in the medical centre doing BP and she advised me to consult the doc re blood tests. I asked if I could make an appointment for a week or two but was told I had to ring or queue on the day. The only reason I got a call was because I submitted home BP results. Would still be waiting otherwise. Rant over. 3 points tomorrow

That’s shocking, nothing like that here, you put a request in online through a thing called Ask my GP in the morning, it’s triaged and then they respond on the day in line with how urgent it is. Occasionally people complain they can’t get through but I think that’s the exception rather than the rule. It should be the same everywhere shouldn’t it.

Yes, I got the appointment this time because my submitted BP readings led the nurse to request a pharmacy call. That came to me within 5 mins of the arranged time. She then booked me a telephone appointment. The doc was only 12 hours late. Then I got my telling off re my drinking. Apparently watching the Blues is no vindication 😅

Go for it. Just have 4 units less tomorrow 😀
