Still have a very loyal following and before the world stopped they always did a Crimbo gig in Belfast.

I prefer Ash though.

I have never really considered where a band came from, just if I liked their music or not. But SLF wrote about stuff that even thicko England folk could get what they were on about. What side of the divide they were on, I am not 100% sure, but I can guess.

They were also terrific live.

Think I'm a bit older than you AT. I was 19 when their album was released in 78 and they were just so different from everybody else at that time. I thought they were great. Same with U2 a couple of years later. Didn't know anything about them as indiviiduals. I just liked the music.

Favourite Irish bands? I was into the Horslips when I was younger and of course Phil Lynott. Always had a soft spot for Clannad. But The Cranberries were probably my favourite. Loved Dolores' voice. And B'witched lol

I’m an 80s child, me and Messy were close in age if not the same. I support Everton because little me liked the jerseys in the 84 final apparently. Story goes I cheered for them and that’s that, the first Toffee in the family.

All great bands named there, B’witched being the stand out.

He is no longer with us Carlos. Thats why this thread was started, as a tribute to a brave bloke who gave his time to others, even though he was poorly himself.

Not actually sure myself what persuasion SLF are myself and wouldn’t know a lot of their stuff to be honest. This will be my Spotify project of the week.
