Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning folks. Just about to apply the warpaint for the day in York. New jeans on - feeling like I'm being crushed in a mediaeval torture device it's that long since I wore anything that didn't come with an elasticated waist! The sun is shining so, hard Northern lass that I am, I'm going toes out, no coat.

Have a fun day everyone. Let's hope Everton make it an even better one. To be honest I would take not losing!

Hi everybody. Lots going on today on here. @roydo and @fandjango your posts need much more than a like. ? ? ? Love the pic of the grandchildren and a chimney certificate also made me laugh! Loving the fondue @blue1948 although at first glance I thought the bits of bread were chocolate brownies! @Barnfred 55 I'm not sure about the Terry Thomas comparison, I had you more as a Leslie Phillips "I say Ding Dong".lol

@jazzy and @Armaghtoffee I'm undecided about Coady. He comes across as a complete tit but if he can do a job for us then I'll take him. I keep consoling myself with the fact that Peter Reid was a childhood red and look how he turned out. It goes without saying that I am gutted that Dom is out for six weeks. I'm sad for him too - poor lad needs a bit of luck regarding injuries. My hopes for this season. comfortable mid table (9-14th would do) and a decentup run. It cannot and will not be as bad as last season. We do not have Benitez any more and I genuinely think Frank can do a job for us. European qualification would be a stunning outcome.

Spoke to my Dad today. He is not looking forward to the season. We haven't cleared out any of the hangers on, doesn't think Gueye coming back will work because going back never works. He's so negative about Everton, he would fit right in with the Everton forum! His good news was that he has found a new cycle on his washing machine that cuts down the time considerably therefore saving electricity. Bless him.

thanks for the birthday wishes for Charlotte @Gwladysover She's having a great time in Scarborough, They have found a pub with beer at £1.80 a pint. Dog rough by all accounts (Mum, there was a woman dipping prawn crackers into her beer) but they are willing to slum it for cheap beer.
Hmm. Bounder or old perve? Let me think on that one.

And show me a girl who hasn't dunked a prawn cracker into her chicken and sweetcorn soup. Is beer so different? Doffs hat to the lowlife of Scarborough for innovation ?

My son's first words this morning were, "It's daddy and lad day. We're off to the football!" I love how excited he is and how we spend so much time together.

I always promised to myself that I'd have a strong relationship my children and spend as much time with them as possible because I didn't have it with my father.
Enjoy Phil, hope we get the result to really make the day.

Enjoy the game Phil . Hope the young lad loves his day and we celebrate with 3 points
That's brilliant. I know it will be a fun day for you both regardless but hopefully a win will make it even more enjoyable.

Thanks everyone. Even at his tender age, he's got a ST so going to the game is quite normal to him, but I love how he's got the start of season buzz.

I hope he's feeling the same come this evening although he's quite resilient and will enjoy the game however it goes. I'm really buoyant ready for today.

I think I mostly enjoy the match day rituals much more than football: we'll get the train and go for lunch; put a small bet on together and head to the pub.

I’m definitely in that camp myself, the build up and anticipation nearly always out does the actual match.

You know I love you really! Hope the hangover improves. Bacon butties required.

It was the routine rather than the actual match that I missed the most when I gave up my ST

Morning all, just back from the supermarket on this beautiful day. Feeling a bit down because we should have been going to a wedding today. It’s not local about 60 miles away, Mr. G. didn’t fancy driving and I didn’t think it was fair to make him so had to decline the invitation on the plus side I get to “enjoy” the match on tv later. Have a great time @PhilM, nothing beats that “going to the first match of the season” feeling. Enjoy the hen do, is York ready for you all? lol @anjelikaferrett. Hangover ? @Barnfred 55 Tut tut!! You’ll never fit into the t-shirt if you keep overindulging;). Unfortunately no rain forecast for at least two weeks @blue1948. Have lovely day whatever you are or aren’t doing today all and let’s hope the lads can deliver a result later. ?
