Glad you are feeling better but sad that you are poorly on your hols. Hope you continue to feel better. X
It's a real bummer Anj. Spent weeks organising catching up with everyone.

As the day has gone on today I've developed all the classic cold symptoms. Not nice but something I've learned to cope with over the years so I'm hoping I'll be able to keep yo pretty much the rest of my schedule. Still sleeping a lot this morning though.

Morning all, Happy Canada Day to @Ducans elbow, bet Nora will be celebrating later lol . Glad you are feeling better @Barnfred 55, enjoy the soup. Day has started off on a bit of a downer here. We are dog sitting today and son and family just called in to drop them off. They were short of time so didn’t go into details but it turns out grandson was being bullied and hasn’t been to school for the last week and a half. He’s a very quiet boy, not laddish at all, prefers his own company or that of girls so I can’t say that I’m entirely surprised, just very, very sad.
Bring it to the attention of the school and insist they do something about it. School should be a happy place and not somewhere to fear.

Kids can be horrible and when they get away with it they become horrible adults.

Poor boy. Kids are ruthless at times. Hope the school sort it out and he can go back soon. How old is your grandson?
He’s 13, 14 in September. He’s going back on Monday and will be changing form groups. We are doing the school run and have to take him to the gate where he will be met. I suppose the school know what they are doing but I can’t help thinking this will isolate him even more.

They already know and have taken steps to address the issue. His Mum is a teacher so she knows who to contact to take it further if the school aren’t doing all they should.

Poor lad. My teacher friends all hate teaching that age group - say they are the worst of all- mostly due to raging hormones that have nowhere to go!
Really hope he's OK. I share your feelings about the arrangements, it's drawing attention to him which he probably could do without. Have the school taken action against the bullies? Because it seems to me that the victims have to compromise rather than the aggressors.

100% this. I was about to do a Je suis Fred.

Not sure whether any action has been taken. I may get to hear more later, don’t think they wanted to say more in front of him in case it upset him further.

Morning all. I did sleep pretty well last night given I had a lot of dozing during the day yesterday. And first signs this morning are that I don't feel quite as achey as yesterday and the headache isn't half as bad.

I was planning to visit Cal's and my brothers graves today but its a good 2 mile walk so I think I'll put it off until later in the week. I have plenty of down time in the mornings.

Thinking I might pop next door to Dobbies and have a bowl of soup later(my go to when I'm feeling poorly). At least I'm thinking about food which wasn't on my agenda at all yesterday. So hopefully this is just a bout of man flu, just a bit more severe than I'm used to as Blue said.
Hope your symptoms improve and the soup makes you feel much better, I always gravitate towards soup when I’m sick or hangover and they always have the magic power to improve my situation, hopefully it will do the same for you ?

That’s terrible, sorry to hear your grandson has to deal with such cruelty. It is sad that other kids will go out of their way to intimidate their school’s mates. I hope the situation gets resolved and your grandson mental health doesn’t get damaged. This summer Sofia did a camp on survival skills and learning how to deal with bullying and sex trafficking (our state is one of the top ones when it comes to trafficking) I thought now that she is to begin middle school she may be dealing with bullying more regularly than in the past so better to learn some skills that may help her deal with such situations.
