2025/26 Merlin Röhl

Iwobi was blamed for the sins of a poor team because we paid a controversial amount for him. He also wasn’t the pacy player a lot thought he was so he was labeled slow and disinterested. He was and is clearly talented.
I was going to say his output hasn’t really improved at Fulham but then I decided to look and he’s scored and assisted alot more. But that’s because his numbers here are atrocious.

I don't post on here very often, but this encounter that Eggs has had caught my attention...

On a more serious note my brother in law is a journalist and has been covering the Bundesliga for over 20 years (he's a bored Bayern supporter himself). He told me on Friday when we met at my fathers 80th birthday that we have a diamond in the making with Mr. Röhl. Not that it will matter if he's a turd, but Lars has been watching more Bundesliga than anyone I know.

My wife's cousins are German fellas in their 50s - both season ticket holders at 2nd division Darmstadt - and both of them love a weekend away watching footy anywhere. Asked them about Röhl the other week when they facetimed from the boozer and one of them in particular kept reiterating that he was a big fan ("powerhouse" was the word he used). I try and watch a bit of German football because of them, but I'd be lying if I said I could ever remember seeing Röhl play.
