I’m a big believer that you only see the best of players when they’re fully match fit, have had consistent game time in their correct position, have stable partnerships around them. You can see the confidence uplift in players who will then start trying stuff. Look at the benefit to Garner this season of just staying fit and having a run of games.

Rohl hasn’t had any of these yet. Very few players can hit the ground running in the PL immediately. I remember City fans doubting Rodri when he first arrived when they had Fernandinho and every time they played together they wouldn’t win and questioning what he did.
 
I haven't seen enough to judge, to be honest, I don't really know what I should be expecting of him, like what kind of midfielder is he?

He keeps getting played as a sort of 10 but that doesn't really look like his game to me.

I think he’s suppose to be a transition midfielder with the ball at his feet, very athletic, drives with the ball at a decent pace. Can’t imagine the injuries help with that.

No idea if he’s good defensively or can pass the ball
