Memories of Mike Walker

Quiz question for you. During his berief time at the club, Walker released Paul Tait (who??) on a free to Wigan, but also sold 4 players who had previously played for our first team. Who were these 4 players?

One thing that stands out in my memory was the support being more vocal than I can ever remember. It was a given that the atmosphere would be electric v Wimbledon but as the poor form got even worse into the start of the next season the crowd really rallied behind the team.It was the 1st year of the park end stand as well which helped.Royle then took over and the amazing support continued.1 of my favourite seasons

How we didn't get relegated I will never know. I wanted a Mike Walker/Ray Wilkins "dream team"

I thought we were really doomed, cos the first time we dropped into the relegation zone all season was after getting beat 3-0 at Leeds the week before that Wimbledon game. That was horrendous, just slipping into it with one game to go!

What made the impending doom seem inevitable was going 2-0 down to Wimbledon early on, after conceding a completely unnecessary penalty and an own goal!! Completely self-inflicted!!!
