Article on Daily Express website. Headline is:

New Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti dreamt of Liverpool job as Toffees announcement close

Carlo Ancelotti is set to take over at Everton - but the Italian dreamt of taking the Liverpool job just a few years ago, per reports.

So kopite journalist Charlie Malam seems to recall (i.e. made up) that a few years ago there were reports that Ancelotti's dream was to manage the RS. Insecure whopper. Always got to be about them.

Just found and read that article. Proper bitter RS point scoring all the way through, including choice quotes from Spit the dog.

They have completely infested the media like a virus, cos it generates clicks from the phone-clutching, sofa-ridden supporters.

That doesn't even include Leicester either who, if they finish top 4, should get some recognition. So with us it's a 'Big 8'. Getting silly now.
Which is right back where we were - and how it should be - 30, 40, 50yrs ago.
EFC, rs, City, United, Arsenal.
There will always be the odd outsider that comes in, wins the league and 'disappears'...Ipswich, Derby, Forest, Villa, Blackburn, Leicester.
Then there's the two odd men out Leeds and Chelsea.

The media are Liverpool and Klopp obsessed. When they win the league the BBC will have a meltdown and probably organise their own parade

You've surely seen some stuff during your time in the biz mate?

Can you give us any insights?

Is it just that the media is full of United, Liverpool and Arsenal fans who are still bitter over the 80's?

I never worked football. But generally the football media in the nationals is the guys the papers rate and who will climb the ladder. So Oxford educated posh boys who grew up watching their football on Sky. That's where the bias comes from. Most of them these days won't remember the 80s. Everton are a club who don't have that broad appeal to replica shirt buyers in the South East and so, unless we produce something newsworthy like Ferguson hugging ball boys, the press aren't going to be scratting about looking for any old fluff to write about us.

Bascially, people who open their newspaper and say "I wish there were more opinion pieces about Everton!" are a niche market.

Oh you meant insights about Lawro on Otterspool prom?

Then they put the click bait header that Carlo is split between two clubs and making hard decision...low life scumbags...

This really. Best answer would be to start actually doing our talking on the pitch for once.

If you start getting regular champions league etc you'll get the same treatment as us. i.e. every MOTD, pre-match build-up, 606 phone-in about Everton will include a long debate about which club your best players will be playing for next season. Trust me. Only the moneybags clubs, Utd and Liverpool seem to be immune from this.

Oh we've had that for a while mate

Ironically, during Euro 2012 there was a big media push for Moyes to get the Spurs job and he was even asked about it whilst doing punditry on the BBC

The stuff on football weekly was appalling.

Think fate curruthers literally said it’s grim up north. Seem to recall her getting a bit personal about Marco silva earlier in the season as well.

And what was that rant about big dunc all about?

Don’t think I’ve ever heard a good word said about us on there. Even when we win there’s a little dig towards us.

Not listened to the latest one but the last one I listened to there was only really Max Rushden buying into and enjoying all the Big Dunc stuff.
