Media attitude towards Everton.

Listened to the guardian football weekly tonight. Starts with 20 min praising every aspect of Liverpool, even calling the world World Cup a ‘storied and prestigious competition’. They then move on to slate Evertons prospective appointment of Ancelotti as ‘posturing’, ‘scattergun’, ‘thoughtless’ and ‘desperate’. One of them even went as far as saying the weather in the north was too depressing for a manager of Ancelottis standing. They sounded like a gaggle of old women having collective diarrhea.
I listen to the same thing with equal disgust, so ignorant and biased - especially Faye Carruthers, she sounded like she had never left London before. Football weekly has been going downhill since acj left. At least the host called her out on her anti northern bias though.

yes Max Rushden is ok.

Man City got all this when they first spent their way to success, they got it from Evertonians as well. I just hope we can do a small percentage of what they have achieved. A couple of top four finishes and champions league campaigns etc. It's really not beyond the realms of possibility, both Spurs and Leicester have already managed it in recent times.

One of those idiots went on to state that the large Italian community in west London was necessary to keep Ancelotti satisfied with living in the uk. As if Italians are somehow weak and stupid and couldn’t stand working abroad if there isn’t pizza place next door.

One thing that has really irked me this season is that Carragher has been providing colour commentary on I think all of our Sky appearances. This would not happen the other way around. In the Leicester game he made a snide comment at our expense when they scored their late winner. When Liverpool play Man Utd they ensure both Neville and Carragher are in the commentary box.
Here in Australia we have Optus sport that shows all the EPL games and it is always Jim Beglin who is in the second commentator. You can hear his bias from a mile away.

what I find weird is the RS I know , most of whom actually go the game , have actually been pretty sound about it respecting his record and saying what a good appointment it is . It’s only the online weirdos , mostly from Bergen or Plymouth who’ve been to anfield less than me who seem so odd about it .
Most RS I know couldn’t give a toss who we appoint, they are too busy living the dream with mega-gnashers! They largely consider us an irrelevance nowadays.

G'wed Dave

Basically that.

I'd love it on Monday if they do an announcement about the planning permission and wheel out Usmanov to formally declare interest / partnership with Moshiri in both the stadium and footballing side. Heads would be melting all over the place.

Most of the London media are Arsenal fans and the state of them atm means they’re all worried about clubs like Leicester, Wolves and Everton usurping them.
