I'm fine with the NRA not wanting guns banned in response to a mass shooting every week in a school. I think they're utterly wrong, but they're welcome to their opinion.

What I find incredibly poor is that fine, they're against banning guns, but they're offering up absolutely no other solutions to this problem that they would be happy with. Unless of course you regard arming schoolchildren as a solution. Utterly awful organisation with so much blood on their hands.

history is gonna judge them so harshly, I hope this will be looked back at with people wondering what the h,ell people were thinking

For example, maybe you can only be allowed to have a gun after passing a full psychic evaluation? You could then have to renew that evaluation every 5 years or so

Some nutters would still slip through the net, but at least it would be SOMETHING

thye don't even want that I can only assume they are scared of creeping legislation

So why are there so many more gun deaths in the US than there are in the UK? If it's purely a blackmarket thing then the fact they're banned here would be irrelevant.

The market's flooded mate, not to mention the ingrained self righteous belief.

Maybe they fear that slight legislative change now will lead to a full ban in the future?

The thing is, gun rights are part of the fabric of American society. The only way guns will ever be banned will be if the deaths get SO out of hand that people demand en masse for them to be banned

It's in the nra's interest to reform the gun laws, otherwise people will eventually turn
