interesting.

did you go to school in USA? What's it like in the classroom in terms of exposure to the flag?

Think it depends where you go to school. In my experience (and, yes, I have gone to school in the USA and the UK), it is no better or worse than being made to say the Lords Prayer every day at school.

Its not like they would have a field sized French flag laying around.

Also, isn't this just one more thing to get outraged over for no real reason? The joys of social media........
There are smaller American flags and larger French flags available. Every single military color guard has numerous US and allied flags available and that is who is generally invited to present the colors at the games.

Not something to truly be arsed about but it is a little disrespectful from an organization comprised of assholes

As someone who had a stint both as a member of a Color Guard and running one (Naval Submarine School (hoo-rah Silver Dolphins!!!!) for both, once as a student back in the late 90's and then as an instructor running it) that is not true.

oh god (literally)...i remember moving to England from Germany age 10 and in my first English school every morning we had to sing bonkers religious hymns all wearing the same weird grey school uniform (no uniforms in German schools). Cult-like in a way.

so yeah, agreed...exposure to the flag is no worse/better than exposure to this sort of thing.

I like the fact that the USA stand proud behind their flag, the UK used to before we gave up hope.......

Right so looking at this, is the faux outrage at the fact that the flag displayed is wrong, or its size in comparison to Old Glory??

Stand corrected then. Still think they could easily find one though

We used to do hilarious things like change it to Cucumber my Lord in our school, what jokers we were

How about no flags and just a minutes silence.

Or lift up red, white and blue cards like this:

They have plenty of them lying around, I'm sure.

I think I am confused about where the outrage is directed.

If it is for the fact they are using the wrong flag, it is probably due to the fact that it would have been done last minute, and when looking at folded flags grabbing the one that is red/white/blue that isn't the US flag, I can understand the mistake (not that I condone it)
