So who would be the third member of the trinity?
This lad will be as good as both...

Why was that midfield broken up so young? Why??All three sold before they were 30.

Colin Harvey's legs had gone really and wasn't up to it. Kendall went because Birmingham insisted that as part of the Latchford deal they wanted Kendall. For 2 years Howie carried us and was asked if he wanted to go as part of the deal and he agreed because it was good for us. Kendall had everything as a midfielder, strong in the tackle great passer, terrific energy and great shot.

With Bally things weren't going to well with him on the pitch and he was a right nark towards other players. Was at the Derby County game, his last, when we lost 2-0 and he was having a right go at some of the players. Don't know if it was true but heard that Kenyon had him by the throat in the changing rooms after the game. Was sold on the Wednesday and we were all in a state of shock.

The Holy Trinity were one of the finest midfields going. They were so intelligent as footballers and could read the game brilliantly. We would switch from 4 3 3 to 4 5 1 to 4 2 3 1 or 4 1 4 1 they were so fluid. It is a pity it came to a premature end really.

Yesterday, we were constantly on the move and particularly in the first half dominated their midfield. The way Martinez sets us up and the way we pass and move reminds me of how Catterick would set us up and get us playing. Early days yet for me to say whether Barry, McCarthy and Barkley will be as good as the Holy Trinity. I hope so because if they get anywhere near as good they we are in for something special.

Today I have seen the start of a midfield as good as Ball, Harvey and Kendall. I don't say this lightly, having watched the holy trinity through their period of utter dominance in the 60's, but these two kids have everything to become Everton Greats.............

Just got to keep envious eyes and hands away.

Keep building from this solid base
