Incidentally, has anyone else got a terrible feeling that Mbia might just be absolutely [Poor language removed]?

I have a feeling he's going to do great here - rare exception of african DMs who can mix physical power with good football skills.

He has played fairly well in France. That however is no proof that he can play in England. Kroldrup played very well in Italy, but couldn't fit into english playing system. That will always be the problem when purchasing players from leagues that play differently then your own.

But I hope the fact that we already have some african players here can help out.. Yobo, Yakubu, Anichebe & Pienaar might help him settle and adapt his playstyle to suit us.. if he comes at all.

I'm a little bit worried about the "Florentina and Athetico Madrid are interested in signing Steven Pienaar" more than anything else.

We should have got him to sign a contract before the Confederations cup. His performances have alerted all the teams in Europe. We only have ourselves to blame should he decide to leave.

Yup, he's only got 2 years left I think, and hasnt been offered an extension as of yet.

He's not for sale? Neither is Lescott....apparantly....

*Here's a till ring to the sound of £15million*

Sell everyone over the age of 21. Moyes clearly only wants young talent. Start building a new team. One that can challenge for a top 4 finish.

On a serious note. Can't see Pienaar leaving at all, as with Lescott I'm not too sure. Refuse to even think about the Cahill option.:(

Lescott? hopefully not leaving
Pienaar? is staying put
Cahill? NOT FOR SALE!!!

Rennes have confirmed Stephane Mbia is likely to be playing in the Premier League next season.

French giants Marseille have been linked with a move for the Cameroon midfielder, although English clubs are being credited with a strong interest in the 23-year-old.

Everton and Manchester City are reportedly leading the chase for Mbia with some quarters hinting The Toffees have already agreed a deal.

While Rennes sporting director Pierre Dreossi has confirmed Marseille have held initial transfer talks, he has also stated they are not prepared to match the club's valuation of the midfielder.

"It's true Marseille are very interested in Mbia and we have spoken and discussed figures, but what they are prepared to pay is not enough," said Dreossi.

"What I can say is that English clubs are leading the chase. They are ready to match our valuation."

Its just to name a club other than us in the story. Last one I read it was us and Arsenal. Looks like we have a chance of getting him. Does he get in the Cameroon squad? Cos he'll be off to the AFCON in Jan if he does.
