The whole thing sticks in my throat like a fur-ball. Why wait until the last week of the window if we were buying. If it's loans we will be picking up other clubs misfits when we already have a big collection of useless articles already?

Dunno mate.
Maybe the player(s) werent available early in the window.
Maybe the clubs wanted a lot more money early in the window.
Maybe we need offers for the deadwood before we can bring anyone in.

Its nothing new , and certainly just doesnt happen to us there's hardly been any movement upto now, plenty havent signed any players and the others that have arnt worthy of note.

As long as Carlo gets the player(s) he wants thats all that matters.

As far as I'm concerned Carlo is the only one telling the truth. He has said that all the names quoted in the press are wrong, he hasn't named anyone himself so why speculate. At the beginning of the month we were far better placed than we are now but the essential reinforcements haven't arrived and at no time looked to be arriving. If the club announced that no signings would be made in this window half the supporters would yawn while the other half would be up in arms YAWN YAWN YAWN

Tbf I dont think Vecino was mentioned til after Carlo said that.

But hey ho if you feel this way why not skip this thread til 1st Feb....might save some angst.
 
I think that if we sign this lad , it will be Ancelotti prompting Brands to do so. As he has probably forgotten more about Italian football , than us lot , combined , know about it , then I am happy to go with his judgement.
 
You know what if we do pick him up for €15 and nothing more, it might be a sound investment provided we shift Snides and maybe Sig in the summer. Leaves your midfield when everyone is fit as Gomes, Gbamin, Vecino, Delph and Davies. The equivalent of £12 million is still very low in this market and for all the people who whine about only buying player aged 23 and under, buying experienced players at their ‘peak’ is just as necessary for composure (ref Newcastle game) - provided you don’t over pay as we have in the past. Seems like an ok deal to me, just make it’s €15m and no more ;)

I agree mate. One thing I noticed in the videos is his first thought is to look forward for a pass. This is exactly what Carlo wants isn’t it? Seems to carry the ball well also. Still think we need a more defensive midfielder on loan until gbamin is back.
