I mean, you could just look at numbers on a spreadsheet and end up with another Gylfi Sigurdsson.

It's genuinely hilarious that people think analytics would lead you to sign Sigurdsson. Maybe if you just looked at goals and assists you could reach that conclusion, but that's not what using "numbers" is in 2020.

We have 5 central midfielders - Gomes, Delph, Davies, Schneiderlin and Gbamin - plus Sigurdsson who can play there and Besic out on loan

if a priority is to sign a central midfielder then clearly we have a number of players surplus to requirements and there should be some sales to offset those coming in

You didn’t know we had crap center mids before? Gomes is the only real quality out of the bunch and even he was inconsistent pre injury. Gbamin might not even have two legs anymore. And even if he gets fit he ls a complete unknown. The rest are average to below par. I though Delph might be good but he’s been poor since October.

Snides should just leave in the summer if anyone will have him. Davies needs a loan at minimum. Delph can be a squad player. Besic Is already gone on loan and I doubt he comes back.

Ancelloti will know that leaders and some inspiration is needed in the dressing room as much as quality.

Just please try and get a few players he identifies. Even if they are pretty gash a wholesale change of attitude within the club at playing level is needed.

If he comes, Schneiderlin should definitely leave. Looks like Besic is doing OK on loan - he also needs to leave - hopefully he will also be sold to Sheff Utd or similar and do well there...

Delph, Davies can be squad players and we'll see how Gbamin does when fit although may be difficult to get a look in with Vecino in place...

It's all good in theory saying we have 5 cms plus siggy but when they include schneiderlin delph and davies you understand why we need one

And two recovering from major injuries.

Not a single box to box player in there.

And since our best two are hurt, sales will have to wait. But Schneiderlin is gone in the super. Siggy probably, too.

See if I could be arsed to track players numerically rather than just watch football... I'd go and get a job as a scout.

Instead I just have my FM spreadsheet to tell me how good players in the game are in the positions I want to use them in.

just use GOT it's full of armchair scouts and tacticians. But only comment if you watch more than premier league football or your opinion doesn't count.
