Mason Holgate

Young lad who has qualities. He is a center back and we will need to invest in a right back (and left back for that matter) in the summer as he is nowhere near a top rightback. He cannot cross the ball and doesnt have attacking qualities. Would like to see him replace jags for last couple matches and put jj in right back.

He is being played out of position and it shows particularly when he tries to attack it doesn't help that Baines on the opposite side constantly walks five yards forward and then passes back to Williams meaning more onus is on Holgate to get forward.

Correct he is not a right back, but he is professional footballer who has got no idea how to cross the ball effectively.

I didn't see Terry/Ferdinand/Adams/Bould and numerous Italian centre backs whipping in crosses either. The lad will be a top quality centre back, that's plain to see for me. Its time to move him there for the last couple of games and get Kenny in at RB to see how they both do.

He is a great defender and actually has some skill on the ball. He plays more like a CB and he could probably fill in as a DM. If we had a winger ahead of him, he wouldn't be a liability as his defending is great.
