Ive always felt he's a bit of a victim of his own success.Yes, but he was fighting a media campaign against a narrative that had us in 'relegation' trouble when we went to 12th in the table at one point.

Feeble excuses, or what might have been ? Interesting he references Kenwright being ill.
Honestly if we can get a first season like Bobby’s out of it, I’d take it. Last time I was truly happy, that.History will repeat itself mate, just watch.
We will go from Moyes now to someone of Martinez profile but of this time.
Still speaks better about Everton now than the negative dullard manager we have in charge at the moment.
'Unfinished business'.
Hmmm.
Roberto interview today in the Guardian.
He's doing a lot of manoeuvres lately in this country.
I can defo see him back managing here after the World Cup.

Roberto Martínez: ‘It’s a hammer blow when you don’t succeed, but let us dream’
The Portugal head coach, who describes the country as a ‘football school’, tells Sid Lowe why he is ready to take risks in pursuit of World Cup glorywww.theguardian.com
When he left us he had the record (at the time) for our 1st and 3rd highest ever net spends. If we spent badly and he couldn’t maintain Europe, that’s on him. Moyes managed with lower net spends. The problem is European football requires not only a bigger squad, but also regular European football to pay for the bigger squad.
We added players to fill out numbers who were not good enough to justify enlarging the squad.
If we’d have spent more/better then, and got into Europe again for a couple of seasons after, we wouldn’t have been left with an oversized, overpaid squad on a reduced income.
Bill trying to cut corners cost us, and set up our financial problems for the next decade.
we won 5 of his last 20 league games in charge. Only won 1 of his last 10.Martinez's reign was pretty much the last time we saw any attempt to play ball to feet football at this club on a consistent basis.
The fans - when the results / league position turned average - weren't prepared to stick with it.
Remember his last derby at Anfield, it was embarrassing. Think they had 40 shots to our 2 or somethingwe won 5 of his last 20 league games in charge. Only won 1 of his last 10.
They aren’t average results. Thats battling relegation form akin to Dyche.
Think he’ll be the next Celtic managerRoberto interview today in the Guardian.

In his own way, yesStubborn to Moyes standards?![]()
Imagine VVD at Everton, Mikey? Do you think he’d still have been a class A knob, or do you reckon we would have instilled some real character into him?And never forget that he could have gone for Van Dijk but went for Funes Mori instead
