"Bobby wants him thats good enough for me"
Absolute nonsense really,
Robles -- Why bother paying for him?
Alcaraz-- Had a bad injury record before signing and turns like a tank.
McCarthy--Fantastic player
McGeady--Flatters to deceive
Kone -- Complete tosh
Yes the loans have been excellent other than Traore of course (who I imagine we will see again next season) but where does this illusion that Martinez is a transfer guru come from as on permanent deals he has made 5 and got one spot on.
Also the talk on Gibson returning so we will have no need for centre mids is totally insane. He has never had a good injury record and as things stand we can only rely on the top class McCarthy next year...need 2or even 3 more there.
I think we all love Roberto but im lost on these transfer comments.
Disagree with you on a few of those, namely Robles and McGeady.
Robles is a young 'keeper who hasn't had a run in the team, and that's critical for that position to get the "feel" for it. McGeady, I'm afraid, you're dead wrong on in my view - for the fee, an incredible buy.
Alcaraz has done well when he's played but he's made of glass and, whilst I agree with you on Kone, it could easily go one way or the other if/when he gets a run of games, but I think we overpaid for a striker of his age.
Whether permanent signings or not doesn't matter - Martinez has picked them out as good players whether it's a permanent agreement or otherwise, so it still counts when considering his eye in the transfer market.
I think you're missing the bigger picture too - this is a manager who went from a relegated club to a top six Premier League club and managed to get in players of the right quality to push us on, despite his experience being at a much lower end. That takes some doing mate.
