If things don't drastically get worse and we stay up I'd keep hold of Martinez. Think he deserves another year to turn things round. If this crap keeps up into next season then get rid but I do think he deserves another season as long as we don't go down

I appreciate what you are saying which is exactly what others are saying , see next season give him to Xmas. My problem with is that he then has a summer transfer window, to get rid of certain players and bring new ones. Are we going to be saddled with more not good enough players and he might give out more contract extensions to deadwood. That is my concern over him staying, if he leaves then the legacy for the next manger could be poor and not what the new one wants.

One thing is for certain moyes left him a great spirit and squad

And their record & pedigree compared to our last two managers is ?
Stop being silly two class blokes there mate.

Laudrup won a league cup vs Bradford.
Everywhere he's managed he's been given the sack for having his teams develop cliques, infighting, and being impossible to work with- they hired Gary Monk from within the playing staff after the man ran off to Paris for a chill during Swansea's most horrific patch of form.
Rijkaard meanwhile hasn't managed since 2013. That was with Saudi Arabia. Prior to that he had one bad season with Galatasaray. He did well with Barca but that was circumstantial more than anything- i mean, they got rid of him eagerly despite him winning the champions league.

Better alternatives to Martinez are very very very very scarce at the moment. If someone better was available then its a definite consideration. But to me that I think that this is just part of him developing as a manager. Not that he gets a free pass. I mean he basically needs to win the Europa to get any credit out of this terrible season. He won't survive a league run like this next season. Not a chance.

What does that have to do with Howard being viewed as a top 5 keeper in the Prem at his best and historically one of our best keepers?

You said he's one our top 5 keepers, never mentioned the PL. I was just pointing out there may be a few in the past, champions no less, who might have been able to catch and that...

Oh I think he will, just look at how long it took us to dispense of Walter Smith. Martinez will be here for as long as he wants providing we're not bottom of the league.

Not the same environment, not the same pressures.
No twitter.
No 24 hour Sky Sports News.
No online forums.

No way he would last this long if this league season were to be repeated next year. I pray.

If Martinez buys Tom Clevelerly for us then he needs to be sacked ! I'd get rid off him now, he's turned us nearly to wigan in the premiership

That'll be a big moment for me if he does sign Cleverley. I can see him being a Barry type figure of playing no matter what the form and it'll do the team no favours.

Would've been brill of they'd gone ahead with that European super league that was rumoured years ago instead of persisting with this old EPL rubbish eh
