So more defeats inbetween? You don't wait for things to get worse you act before that. And don't say they will get better as clearly it's not

I've heard some on here advocating Unsworth as the temporary manager. Imagine Rhino leading us out at Wembley fs. The league season is more or less over, we wont go down, and we wont even make top-half. Martinez should (and he will, lets face it, Kenwright's post-Chelsea interview proves that he will) lead us into the semi-final and probably to the end of the season.

We want a top top manager, and they are generally only available in the summer (Mourinho-aside)

@Khalekan
I too wouldn't want to be branded as a "kopite" but I fear we are fast approaching if not already at the point whereby the fan base may/does need to make it's concerns heard/seen.

I think actually we are unified, unified in knowing that last season was garbage, this season has been largely garbage with one or two bright spots and that even an FA Cup should not be sufficient to see the manager remain in place.

People - well, one person for sure - will argue/suggest that to dispense with a trophy-winning manager would be an abhorent act... well, I'll stand to be corrected, but didn't Chelski sack Di Matteo after he guided them (whether in a caretaker capacity or not) to a CL title ?

There's such a thing as being cruel to be kind and if we do win the FA Cup then that would sit nicely on the CV of RM... while we thank him for his efforts and move him on in favour of a new manager and hopefully in a more positive direction up the table.

Block....I will go one further.

I would sack him now because as things stand I can't even focus on the semi final as we have four league games in between now and then and for the life of me I don't see us winning one of them.

It is possible we will go to Wembley on the back of a seven game winless streak in the league......a six game winless streak in all competitions.

That is no preparation for Wembley, Block.....no preparation at all.

You saw it yesterday......you saw it agsinst Arsenal and West Ham.......heck, we even saw it at Villa when they reduced a three goal deficit to 1-3.

The minute the opposition score against us panic sets in.....even when we are two goals in front.

IMO this is the Norwich and Bournemouth and Stamford Bridge chickens coming home to roost.

Nothing erodes a player's confidence more than not winning games they should have won at a canter.

I will include City in the LC semi that as well......we were 3-1 up in that tie as it approached half time in the second leg.

Never in my long years as an Evertonian have I witnessed such doom and gloom at the club with the Twin Towers and glory looming on the horizon.

As I have said before, Billy Bingham was sacked a couple weeks before the Bolton LC semi final back in '77.

It worked.

A semi final on the horizon should have no bearing on Bobby's tenure at this time as we are in freefall in the league and there are four games before the big day.

Get him out now.....let Big Joe guide us through the rest of the season.

Flip......I have forgotten what prompted that rant now :(

Oh yes......but I still wouldn't want no steenkeen, Kopite banner

IF the new owner wants to actually win something and prepare for next seaosn now then yes mate, get shut of martinez tomorrow, why keep a manager on in a job when he has proven he isn't up to it

right now the crowd have turned completely on him, and the players will feel that everty single lame performance now, not exactly going to be positive getting them to stay after that

He doesn't need to speak to Martinez mate, all he needs to do is watch 5-6 of our games and listen to the manger speaking before and after each one to form the opinion he has lost it...

I think Moshiri will be under no illusions of what players are needed and will stump up the cash to back him or wait till summer to pull the plug.

Most managers will be under contract now and so may as well wait till then rather than upheaval.

Martinez will be very different behind closed doors to his media persona.

Or look at it another way

Kone £5mil
Cleverley Free
Barry Free
Besic £2.5mil rising to £4mil
McCarthy £13mil

For 5 players there which is just north of £20mil combined we really need a DM "new busquets" CM with a goal threat and a winger with the same....

I think he has done very well and i would trust him to bring in the right players...but contrary to alot of people saying best squad etc i think we need half a team worth of quality.

You miss my post replying to you about our defensive record with Baines starting btw Zat as you haven't replied yet? ;)

btw who are these weak players we need replaing in the first team Zat - i am assuming 5-6 as you said half a team?

We should have Martinez out banner at Watford,it will give the powers that be something to think about, exercise the mind like. and then just sack him, pronto.

A semi final on the horizon should have no bearing on Bobby's tenure at this time as we are in freefall in the league and there are four games before the big day.

Good post - and completely agree, the cup should have no bearing on his job no matter how many people think it does.

But... defo time for banners and some sort of visual representation of the fan base not being happy.

We're not guna hire unsworth because people on here want him. But maybe an interim manager is needed? I think itl be summer before a new manager is in but if it means doing it now and stopping the wrot it's needed mate.

My sentiments exactly.

Losing either one of those games would be hugely disappointing, but a derby loss and another semi final exit in less than a week...it doesn't bear thinking about.

I don't know if you are of an age to remember, shark, but we had a week from hell in 1971.....lost to the RS at OT in an F.A. Cup semi final on the Saturday then excited the European Cup at the quarter final stage on the following Wednesday.

:(

Me, @Dario Terracotta and @BlockHead have been haunted by that week ever since :(

That's what makes some of the Martinez on here just laughable.

If the measure if success if a manager is the cup runs rather than the league, then we may as well take comfort in beating these lower league teams, be playing them much more in the future.
A good cup run in itself shouldn't be entirely disregarded so credit where credit is due, Martinez has forged a team that's progressed well in two.

Equally, we progressed quite far in the Europea League last season, which until being dumped out by Kiev brought a fair amount of joy to all.

Therefore, the issue is how much weight you put on a cup run (and the teams you had to face) compared to performances within the league.

Personally, when you consider the teams we've faced the league form is more telling. Let's not forget, we've yet to be successful in a cup as well.

For me, the pressure on Martinez shouldn't be totally ignored simply to not overshadow the cup preparations. To do so disregards the league.

Winning the cup will be great regardless of opponents, however even if we'd faced all PL opposition would it nullify the league? Not for me.

So for people to argue that the cup can disregard our woeful showing in the league when you consider our opponents is more perplexing.

Well if hes open to man united...

1--,Arent people saying we should have beaten them?
2-- Dont we have serious money now?
3-- Where else is he going to?

Yeah your right lets get him in. Saw in paper the other day that City want Suarez. I think we should put a cheeky bid in. Its the type of player we can attract now we have money.

Not really behind this to be honest, I think he is on very thin ice and can certainly see a big argument for sacking him - and I don't think it's Kopite either.

BUT, this could be a massive month for us with the semi, wait until after then.
